    Newcastle are fearful of Chelsea making a mammoth £10 million bid for Cheik Tiote, with Alan Pardew admitting he would be powerless to stop the 25-year-old from leaving St James’ Park.

    "We're not a Liverpool or any of the clubs above them,” Pardew admitted.

    "We're competing on a lower level."

    1. Tiote has a zillion years on contract so politely tell the player he's staying ( as per Modric).........we don't need more cash.

    3. Powerless??............................do an Andy Carroll and ask £30 million ( having said that not sure we need more underground heating , blah blah blah)..................Chelski have very deep pockets

    Tiote's interview in the chronicle suggests he's only interested in us.
    He's also said he doesn't like London in the past. Whereas both Chelsea and Newcastle have dismissed that they made an enquiry or will even make a bid.

    Also, 10mil is not a "mammoth" offer. It would be if they were bidding for Perch, but not for Tiote.

    I was going to say! When its one of the richest clubs in the world bidding for one of the best players of his position on a 6 year contract, that is not a "mammoth", its a mouse bid.

    10 mill aint mammoth these days and if Chek is onlyworth that then Sturridge is only worth 5/6 mill.

    £10m, you that is beyond a joke, he is woth at least £16m and that is bottom end with a broken leg, with 6 years on his contract, better player than Carrol and twice the player of Henderson, he should go for less than £22m
