He's not been right for a while, the lack of goals brushed over by highlighting what else he brings to the team and normally I'd agree.

However, when was the last time he had a really great performance? He's one of my favourite players combining skill with hard work and aggression but when was the last time you saw him battle defenders and come out with the ball or pull off a great bit of skill?

His roll in the team has changed and he plays more in the middle now so is that one of the reasons we're not seeing the combative player we're used to?

Do we drop him? And if yes when? Jota playing himself into contention but that would mean Salah or Mane up top which could work, this could be a good option against Atlanta and it might give him some motivation as I think he'll be essential Vs City as we cannot allow them to play out from the back.

Already lots of questions, what do you think?

Said this week's ago and got rinsed.

Id say its time for Klopp to be ruthless.

Why did we buy Jota if not to compete with our existing 3.

So let him compete and let Bobby up his game again to get back in the side.

    Champ ****.

The lack of goals was disappointing but didn't bother me too much because of all the other things you mentioned that he brings.
However, he's been in a decline for a while now and it's beginning to look bad for him. Maybe he has some personal problems preying on his mind, or maybe it's just a dip in form. Whatever it is, we do have more options now than we've had in the past so perhaps it's time to give him a rest.

End of the day I hope he gets back to his best but right now it's worth playing Jota tonight imo them Bobby back in for City and see how he reacts.
I'm wondering about the personal problems thing, just doesn't seem himself.

I agree - I was referring to the past, when he wasn't scoring too many, but was contributing in other ways. This season there's been very little from him, which is why I've come round to the idea of dropping him.
I don't think it's something you do to a player for a few bad games, especially when he's such an important part of the team, but it's been long enough now to see that some change is needed.
I'm sure if we can see it Klopp can too, so if he doesn't do it there must be reasons.

Jota has well earned his spot.

If he was not at the club, I'd want bobby in, but he is so based on merit, bobby should be on the bench

Not doing so will **** around with the morale of players who've earned their starting spot but don't get it

not negativity, the performance last week was the worst yet, he really wasn't playing well at all.

Even his passing is lackluster where it used to be crisp in the counter attacks

Jota managed to net twice in his substitution, even if one was not given.

Bobby has lost the hunger, some players need to be benched for a bit to get the most out of them, like Beardsley in later years

I suspect he's jaded after 3 years of killing himself.

Few weeks rest and I reckon we'll see the old Bobby

I think he's been overplayed - he's played non stop since Klopp came in with little break in the summers, and he's one of the most intense and hardest workers around. Same thing happened to a few players under Klopp in his last year at Dortmund - players are physically and mentally fatigued.

Maybe he just needs a rest
He certainly deserves the chance to prove himself imho
The level he has been at for a few seasons is amazing
    We need another bod
Jota will have a quiet spell
Let’s see what he offers when not playing well and let’s hope we can use this competition for places

This exactly for me, no one thinks Bobby is done not by any means, but **** the guy does so much work and has played nok stop for 3 years.
A rest is exactly what he needs.
Im not bothered by upsetting him, if he wasn't upset I'd be bothered, but we need him at and all the lads peak level.

We bought Jota for that sole reason, so we can rotate up front, let's just do it no biggie.
