I think every man and his dog was expecting to see the club release the retained list yesterday afternoon, so much so Kent Sport News put it up on their twitter page. Think they said it would be up in 'the next few hours'. As I type this it is almost 4 o clock Saturday afternoon, a full 24 hours after the original expected time and I have to believe that this hold up is not purely coincidence. Maybe one of the lads out of contract was haggling over wage and as a result the time has been pushed back. Maybe I am reading into it too much but I know lots of people are constantly clicking refresh hoping to see it pop up, maybe the Bayo twitter thing may signal it is coming soon as he may have been the one we wanted to keep but couldn't agree anything? Know its sad but Im desperate to see who, if anyone, we keep considering the only player everyone seemed to agree about 'keeping' (pun very much intended) was Nelson. My guess is for a 5 o clock club announcement!
What's the rush? The season has just ended. Most players contracts run until June. Just because KoL say it's happening doesn't mean its gospel. Anyway, I reckon most of the staff would be having the weekend off for the first time for 9 months. I don't think the club would want to delay anything unnecessarily, but nothing wrong with announcing it sometime this week. I'd suggest the players already know (at least, the affected ones will do).
Actually thinking about it they may be holding off till this blooming bike thing on Saturday is out the way as I guess that a couple of the riders may be released?
I wonder if perhaps there's one or two that are out of contract and we want to keep (Bayo,Kedwell Lee?) and negotiations are taking longer than Scally thought, probably because they haven't bitten his arm off with the first derisory offer that he put to them, and the club want to announce who's going and who's staying in one hit,so to speak.
