Looks like Scally's selling the ground...... BUT- probably keeping 'control' of the football team ( just like he wanted. ).. The American is a property developer - so - if / when the team fails, he can just build a load of homes... however, if Father Christmas was real - I'd love to think that the new owner will finance a new stadium on the back of turning Priestfield into housing... and use some of the huge profit on player recruitment... This would be a 'win' for everyone....... ...... don't mind me, I'm still feeling the effects of the general anaesthetic I had last week.
I seriously hope........ ........ the 'mortgage' that Scally is taking on, is going to be spent on (decent) player recruitment.... BUT - I have a horrible feeling... It's an open secret that ( allegedly), Gills have no money ( other than in Scally's pockets.) - so - you'd ( like to ) think that any money might be used in the transfer window .... HOWEVER - given Scally's reluctance to spend any cash on anything without a Scally surname -- I think he might be using the money for other purposes.... Don't Gills owe the FA a load of money - to repay the 'Covid' loan ?..... And, given the lack of income in recent times (( mainly through Scally's lack of marketing skills )) - I wonder if Gills might be in difficulties with the Taxman.... and we know the HMRC love to 'wind up' more than me !... Gills probably still owe a load of money to previous Director - I think the name was Anderson ( or whatever ?) ....I 'm sorry if my thoughts are not more cheerful - but - Scally hasn't been interested in investing in the players for a very long time - with the Club woth more dead than alive, why would he bother to waste money on sticking plasters on a corpse ?
