The press who interview these people should have a legal obligation to report perpetrators to the police

Police: hello is that Comet in Clapham?
    Comet: yes it is
Police:could you give me a list of all the people who have applied for a job in your branch in the last 3 months, but only the people who live in Lewisham
Comet:certainly, is this so you can catch the dizzy little **** that wrecked our store because we didn't employ him?
    Police:yep, cheers

That is the typical mindset of these idiots. They all want to earn big money but they don't want to start at the bottom and work their way up like everyone else.

To be fair, i harbour nasty thoughts about compaines who rejected me for jobs and will do for all eternity. Admittedly I usually hope for the person who advertised the job's knob to fall off rather than loot his shop or whatever but I think it fair to say they pretty much amount to the same thing <whistle>

Well whoop-dee-****ing-doo. It it took me ages just to find a voluntary job (for CV building and such) but you didn't see me rioting on the streets. Thousands of people are finding it difficult to jobs, they're hardly unique in that respect. I'm sorry but that excuse just doesn't cut it.

One said he had got £400 for a Blackberry tablet on the Gumtree website.

Not a bad deal. The knocked off goods will be sold easily so in a sense that makes the buyer as guilty for providing a market.

Anyone here that has never purchased something dodgy ?

    I was on the YTS, I got £30 p.w when I started in 1989.
It shot up to £35 p.w after a year - them were the days.

I admit I have knowingly bought stolen goods but I was 17 at the time and earning £80 pw, since then I don't buy anything I think has been nicked.
Once you've been personally affected by theft then I think it changes your whole opinion on buying stolen gear.

The only dodgy goods I have ever bought are copied PS1 games and out of date ham but that's a different kind of dodgy.

"The only dodgy goods I have ever bought are copied PS1 games"

It's still technically theft though. Once we all buy all our DVDs from the geezer in the pub, download all our music for nothing and buy games form wherever the hell you go to buy them the manufactirers will thrown in the towel, the retailers will fold and lots of people will lose their jobs. You're not looting but in the long term it has the same effect. Still, as long as you get to play "Lara croft and the anal invasion by pygmy hippos 23" for a tenner it's all right.
