Well, the first thing that you need to know about it is that you don't link anything to General Chat on this forum.

It was also amazing last week, SJW!

Not sure why this was resurrected, to be honest.

I don't think that Sopcast itself is illegal.
I'm not sure that watching a dubious link is, either.
Hosting one is, almost certainly, but even that might depend upon location.

They'll have to catch me first! :bandit:

Sopcast is merely a peer-to-peer broadcasting program.
It'd be like making Windows Media Player illegal or something.

Its been around a few years, so it must be ok, but personally I always find perfectly good non sopcast sites on the day.

Very grey, and we all know it.

Downloading, no problem. It's the uploading part where the problem lies. If you are uploading, as you are on SopCast and every other P2P stream, you are distributing copyrighted material. The owners can sue.

But I'm just a tiny drop in the ocean.

I do see problems ahead for us all. BT blocking Newsbin is the start. SOPA is coming. Problems, not impossibilities. ;)

    -----

You'll need a copy of VLC to go with SopCast as some streamers use funny settings. A 3 second buffer in the SopCast options works wonders for me too.

I use Sopcast all the time, usually use Bloodzeeds stream on it, his stream quality is brilliant, he's a yid too so 95% of the time he'll stream Spurs games over others as long as he has the link himself.

Though as supernorwich23 said, firstrowsports.tv is pretty good too. <ok>

Bloodzeed's link is normally about 30 seconds behind, in my experience, but it's always of excellent quality.

www.wiziwig.tv normally has good links for both Flash and Sopcast, too.

The 30 seconds is annoying when you combine it with following on here. Some muppet is always saying "FFS" or "Penalty!" without any context. Bracing myself for a goal against and find it's a miss from us, or piss take of someone calling for a penalty that's not given. <grr>.

True, I think most are a bit behind though aren't they?
