In the days of the old 606 there was a fishing section which while not highly frequented always had some quite lively banter except for the idiot element which invaded all the threads.

You're right Toby - Ian should have had a capital I

you might want to excuse him - it appears he might be a Scouser ( is that a proper noun ? )

The river Moy was once among the best salmon fisheries in Europe; however, in recent times, drift net fishing off the coast caused a huge decline in salmon numbers. According to central fisheries board statistics, 101,231 returning salmon were taken by drift nets off the west coast of Ireland in 2005. In the same year, 29% (6,675) of all rod caught salmon in Ireland were taken in the Ballina district as a result of a weir which keeps salmon trapped in the ridge pool near the mouth of the river during the summer. Drift netting for salmon was banned in November 2006 and the ban came into force on 1 January 2007

Got this off wiki mate, major salmon river will pm you for details, bestest buddy old mate. <creepcreepkissesbumaffectionately>

Fishing is not a sport. It is an excuse for grumpy old ****s to get pished and leave their rubbish at the side of rivers and lochs while hiding from the old sea-hag they now regret ever marrying.

I once caught Cthulhu off the coast of Paraguay. Unfortunately as it was breeding season we had to catch and release.
