Four days until the end of the transfer window and Magath has said playing all the youngsters has not worked so we may need a couple more signings! For me we need..... 1. A solid proven keeper- 38 year old Kiraly doesn't do it for me I would prefer Bettenelli Suggestion - how about Friedal for a year??? 2. A solid proven defensive midfielder - I cannot believe Tunnicliffe hasn't been given a chance, he's still young played at this level before and done well, thought he would be a big player this season Magath has to give him a go. Alternative - Collinson on a free??? 3. Ideally A no nonsense solid centre halve who has a bit of pace - Burn could save us bringing in another centre back he has played at this level done well. We lost our first two games by the odd goal with centre halve mistakes costing us in both games if Burn had played we might already have points on the board Suggestions - Demel West Ham???
I don't think we need a centre back. Burn/Bodurov with Hutchinson as the main cover will be fine. We do need a midfielder to cover for Parker and a goalkeeper. The third thing we need is consistency - in our team, in our tactics and in our support.
Need a more experienced spine to the team, but I fear it's too late in the transfer market for that, and Magath doesn't seem to have any knowledge of the English leagues players. Whether they can get some in the loan system is debatable. Maybe use Mitrogluo and Ruiz as bait to get 2-4 swap loans in from Premier teams, but is that what Magath wants, I doubt it. Magath seems to want to prove himself right, in that he can use a youthful team to gain promotion from the Championship, despite more experienced managers saying that is hard to do in the Championship. At the moment he has no plan B, because most of the players he has brought in from abroad are also not experienced and some will take time to adjust.
