that a striker who was generally not regarded as good enough for us in the Championship last season is suddenly so bloody good in the Premier League. Heidar Helguson has been an absolute revelation, supporters of other teams that I speak to are so impressed by the way he hangs in the air, and how he wins so may headers against the giant defenders other teams possess. His influence in out great start last season was not widely recognised, maybe his importance this season will be.

Heading ability absolutely out standing. Just needs a little more luck / ability with that last touch. Would love to see him get to double figures this season.

I thought he certainly deserved a place in the squad at least but I must admit I never thought I'd see him leading the line like this. Remember what he was like with us a few seasons ago?!!

Has indeed been a revelation this year, I put a lot of it down to his premiership experience. He is in no way fazed by the Prem, whereas Betty has taken a few games to 'bed in'. I'd still think we need a better finisher of the ball than HH. His three goals so far this season have been a cross, a penalty and a deflection off the back of his head! Cannot fault his perfomances though.

    Football moves in mysterious ways.
And sometimes throws up the unexpected in players that can perform in the premiership.
Heidar always give his all, last season he was fantastic.
Tbh, I thought that was his level.
He's not exactly a fox in the box, but he does bring an element of steadiness to the team.
I think he plays better with another striker alongside him.

He has seized his chance with both hands, and has been arguably been our best player over the last four games.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.
Even Wilkin's apparently mentioned this last week.
A very close friend of mine, ( works with me at the station )
met him on a golf course, they joined up for a four-ball as Heidar was on his own.

After the second hole, my mate asked him what he did?
''Professional footballer for QPR'' , replied Heidar.
Subsequently, my mate and Heidar now meet up and play golf once a week, and have become good mates.
My mate says he is the most genuine and un-assuming bloke you could ever wish to meet.
Although he did say that he plays with Joey once every couple of weeks, and Joey is better at golf than him.
Apparently, Joey is always off doing charity work.

Long may his form this season continue.

It's called taking your opportunity and working your bollocks off.At the start of the season he probably didn't think he was going to get a game with Bothroyd,DJ,Adel and even Ageymang in front of him.Once he got his chance he thought to himself this is going to be my last chance playing in the big time, and he has made sure that he will be going out on a high, much the same as Derry has.Good luck to him and long may it continue, can't help thinking what might have been if he had played up front instead of Dave in those 2 games earlier in the season!!

Also really good management. Players with something to prove FTW every time - on our budget anyway. (Although I fear you may be right re. Dave. I hope the points dropped against Bolton and Wigan don't come back to haunt us.):emoticon-0107-sweat

Taarabt Smith Routledge Orr Hall Hill Buz
Have all played key parts so far in the Prem (WR for Swansea)
Now Swords has emptied his sacks inside his Amstrad he has seen the light

couldn't have got more lucky than saturday , that really did hit him and go in. I think the difference is last season he would have been offside !!

His playing very well and benefits from having support of bothroyd and SWP.

He outjumped Richards Saturday for the headed pass for our first goal - the commentator said Richards is 6 foot ten! Says it all about HH - phenomenal!

Luck is what you make for yourself in this game. I'd say unlucky - right at the death, he'd beaten Hart all ends up, only to have the ball come back off the underside of the bar. Would have made an 'unlucky' efeat a deserved draw.

Nothing amazes me anymore Roller, that's what you get with age and cynicism. Last years talisman is now an albatross round our necks, last years donkey is terrorising premiership defences, we played a passing game against one of the best teams in Europe, we have an owner who not only cares but seems to understand as well.....if I allowed myself to be amazed I would need jaw surgery.
    HH was immense on Saturday.

I have always rated him I TBH could not understand why he was berated so much I think people expected miricles from his 2 or 3 game run in the team which was never long enough for him to bed in properly. Coldharbour can I add that he won the penalty that he scored gave the assist for Bothroyds header that he also repeated this assist against City but Ferdinand was not sharpe enough to convert and it was his cross that led to our equalizer against Villa where they scored an og and he didn't against Fulham.

Nonsense Oddball. I repeat once more what I've always said. Our Ch'ship squad would have been hammered back down as would Swansea's and Norwich's. With quality additions and significant investment in the squads, all three acquired the ability to compete at this level.

That's why you haven't heard me complain once since Big Tony came in and splashed the cash! And rather bewilderingly there now seems to be a growing number of "fans" having a go at our best team in an age. Very strange indeed.

Agree Pork to most of what you say
My point is that the players listed have all done well so fat yes the team looks tip top of course I just remember a load of fans on here calling some players donkeys etc Mackie is hungry HH written off behind DJ Campbell etc

The boys have come through and I hope he looks again at Hogan as he could be a Modric in the making great little player .... We got puncheon as a panic buy I would take any of championship players over him

Was about to post this myself Roller!

I can't believe how good he's been this season. I remember 08/09 when many thought he was complete cack and would struggle in League 1 let alone the championship. He went out on loan before NW gave him a chance last season and even then his performances have come no where near what they have been this season. He just wins every single header and he's only 5'10"!!

Long may it continue and in all honesty I cant wait to see him and DJ up top together as then we have the nippy finisher and the hold up expert with Bothroyd being a sort of back up to both.
Yeah I know we're going to sign another striker but who else in this league is better than HH in the air?
