Would it be too unlikely for the following?: Wigan lose to Blackburn on Monday night? Then lost to Wolves on their final premier league appearance? Thus making their goal difference worse than ours..... It's probably about as likely as us getting a point at Man City.....but could happen!! On another point - what do we reckon MH tactics will be? Are we gonna park the bus for a draw for 90 mins? I mean Chelsea did it against Barca. Reckon we should put on Dyer, ****tu, Gabbidon and even Cerny as an extra defender.....
Kenny ------Onouha Ferdinand Hill Gabbidon Young ---------------------------------Taiwo Derry Barton ----- Diakite Cisse
That's brilliant skin! I'd love it if lined up like that as I can't see any point in us "going for it".
Are we getting Paul Hart back for this game? GD only comes into it if Wigan lose against Blackburn and then Wolves. I cant see Wigan not picking up a point or more in the next 2 games meaning we only have to worry about getting a point unless Bolton get near double figures at bolton.
Wigan will only come into it if they lose both and we lose by 1/2 at city or get a unlikely draw. So tbh, Im not sure who I would rather win tomorrow? Wigan or Blackburn? Wigan are likely to get something v Wolves anyway, so perhaps it is best for Wigan to win tomorrow and condemn Blackburn?
We want a big Blackburn win, they arent going to make up 6 goals in the GD to overtake us with a last game at the Bridge.
If Blackburn win tonight, wigan will still be in the mix. You never know, they could bottle it against wolves, who I'm sure will want to drag wigan down with them. But it all hinges on us not being smashed by man city and after that Chelsea performance, I'm not so sure.
I do not think we will get hammered by City though I expect us to lose. Hughes & Co are smart and will not make that error again. They will have a plan. What worries me more is the emotional content of the game. I beleve Hughes was desperate for a win against Fulham at LR and I think that might have clouded his judgement in not subbing Diakite as we could all see the red around the corner. Even Sir Alex has thrown his tuppence in the mind games calling Hughes's sacking from City as 'unethical'. Hughes is a United man from old so there is the potential for a fairytale ending possible for Hughes. If he can keep the blue torrent at bay for the draw, he saves QPR, hands the title to United (assuming they beat Sunderland) and causes the most massive upset of Premier league history by denying City the title. Therefore, he has to channel the emotional energy perhaps in a way he and the team have not quite done all season. Fasten your seat belts, ladies and gents. The ride is going to fast and furious!!
I'm still of the opinion that the pure hilarity of seeing Blackburn lose comfortably while the fans wrestle with stewards to attack the manager slightly outweighs hoping on a very slim chance of Wigan losing by a few goals at home to Wolves.
There are still a few unlikely permutations. 2 Wigan defeats, 2 Blackburn wins, us getting a tonking and Bolton scraping a win. Whichever way it goes a draw at Man City is the only sure way we avoid the drop, though personally I think we'll avoid a really heavy defeat as I think if Man City go 2 up Mancini will shut up shop, it's in his nature and he remembers the battering we gave City at HQ. I also think Stoke will beat Bolton and can just see Crouchie becoming a legend with a winning goal. My final positions: Wigan 43 Villa 38 QPR 37 Bolton 35 Blackburn 31 Wolves 25
Or we could go with this line up, 4-3-2-1 "christmas tree", if Diakite is fit, would have him in before Derry, maybe bring Derry/Mackie/SWP in for fresh legs later in the game, Kenny Onouha--Ferdinand--Hill--Taiwo Young --------Diakite----------Traore Barton ----- Taarabt Cisse
Bolton have not kept a clean sheet in their last 13 games. I know stoke have nothing to play for but still gave us a hell of a game yesterday. And at the Britannia they are a different kettle of fish. 2-1 stoke win or a 2-2 draw at best. Becoming an honourary Potter this weekend, Come on Crouchy!!
I hope Blacburn loose tonight or take only a point. With a win Blackburn could go past us on goal diff / goals scored. We don't even have to be thumped by Citeh! Our goal diff is only 6 bettter than Blackburn and they have scored more, so if they win for example both games by just 2-0 and we loose just 0-2 to City then they will be above us on goals sored. I'm a Wigan fan tomorrow, and Stoke next Sunday without doubt, don't want to be a f*kkin scum fan next Sunday as well!
People want Blackburn to win?? You are crazy! Wigan are on fine form at the moment and will beat both Blackburn and Wolves....(or at least one of them)....Wigan are safe IMO, so lets hope Blackburn get relegated today and then Bolton next weekend.
It doesnt matter unless they win at the bridge and sadly we want the scum to win their next game which means they still have a chance at a CL spot on the last day. Now i agree it might happen if they lose that and have nothing to play for. its against Liverpool so they have a good chance of winning it.
If blackburn beat wigan, they play a Chelsea side that has a champions league final 6 days later, wot sort of team do you think they will play, wigan to win and then only Bolton to worry about, come on you Potters,
