One of their much vaunted FA Youth Cup Winners has signed a Pro contract for Town! 18 Year old Left Back Ben Wyatt born in Norwich and played for their youth team. This is a little unexpected but it seems that Cressy is definitely on his way as we now have Mings and this lad ready to step up.
Think it's a bit presumptious that we've got him as a back up to Mings and that Cressy is on his way. Not saying Cressy won't but i'm not sure that would be the reason, well i hope not anyway!!
All sounds ominous doesn't it. Hope thats at least 4 million reasons warky. He's worth it all day long.
I wonder how long it will be supers turns up and start spouting off about how crap he is and he spoke to the top people at norwich about how crap he is.
actually i think he's quite promising guru but he wasn't poached, he was released by city. unfortunately he suffered a number of injuries last season and hasn't kicked on as hoped for. did well during our cup win last season and reminds me of adam drury - steady and consistent and loves a challenge. he is incredibly slight though, needs to bulk out and definitely nowhere near ready for the championship yet but a season on loan to a league two club next season and then maybe he might stand a chance of challenging your next left back (mings i assume, as cresswell is leaving) i can only wish him luck, as i'm sure any sane norwich fan would - always good to see youth players make a career in the game, even if its not with the club who produced them

No need to worry you two, he's not good enough for Norwich but he's plenty good enough for your crowd!
Is this the first time ever dave has disagreed with supers? Reminds me of that neil diamond song 'love on the rocks'
i'd suggest that was the feeling of a number of city fans who were impressed with our youngsters last season (well, season before i suppose). unfortunately not many have watched the youth team this season. if they had they'd realise a good number of them haven't progressed as much as we'd have liked and unfortunately ben wouldn't have even registered in their thoughts but that's not the boys fault - he could still go on to prove the club wrong for releasing him and i for one hope he does because he's a good lad and will hopefully make a career out of the game. just don't expect too much too soon - he's one for the future
I wonder if youth team success is often down good coaching getting a group of players to play well to a system rather than one or two gifted individuals who are obviously destined for better things.Ancient history ,I know ,but none of our FA Youth Cup winning team went on to do anything, but their opponents,Southampton, included a couple of future "stars".
It does clearly look as if Southampton managed to get the best out of the class of 2005.! that saints team. wow. but that's where a lot of norwich fans are getting a bit carried away by our own team because cup football can be unpredictable. its much better to look at league form and ours has been patchy (its still a good youth side, but not outstanding) and if you were to put me on the spot, i'd hazard a guess that only one, maybe two of our cup winners will have a career in the top flight.
