What a strange season this has turned out to be - when was the last time that instead of picking up a win or two here and a draw or defeat there we have had these extended runs of either games without defeat or games without a victory We had a good start then October / November we could do nothing right; December / January we could do nothing wrong; February rubbish; March great and now April yuk. I'm not sure what it says about either our players or the manager. What I do believe though is that Malky needs to think hard about these trends - as manager he needs to prevent losing streaks from developing - he clearly has some good players and it is often confidence that makes the difference - when you have a lot of youngsters in a team you either need the experienced heads to put their feet on the ball and calm things down or he needs to swtich a player or two to achieve the same effect
this seasons objective has been achieved , it is hard to push on again, especially with an unbalanced team and a make shift out of position defence all having bad days at the same time!! Forget this season now as a job well done !and work on the problem of keeping us competitive under Mr B(Need MM to pull another miracle out the bag!)
So long as we don't have more or less a pointless run-in - If we finish 16th or 17th it makes us look bad and with the summer players leaving - inevitable we will struggle - I was thinking more of Malky improving even more next season - which I am sure he will -but he cannot let these poor runs of form become a regular feature of his sides. The problem with Aidy was he came to believe he was better than he was - Malky needs to remain grounded and look to develop not only his players but himself too
I think the fact we're having these losing streaks is because of: 1. Our small squad, a few injuries and we're having to dip into the youth and inexperience. 2. The squad is still very young and learning. I think we've come a huge way since this time last year and hopefully continue making progress in the right direction. We've already overachieved, given the medias predictions and the resources we have, so can't be too down about a few rough times
be nice to win the next 3!! Highly unlikely though! , I thought we would have done better in the last 3 games, shows how much I know!
well - you certainly can't complain about the results overall this season - who at the start would have thought that with 7 or 8 games to go we would still be in with a shout of the play offs - I just found it odd that instead of one win one defeat etc we have had these runs of half a dozen games which have been good - then bad - then good. Made for an interesting season though
