Mignolet is Belgian and Westwood is Irish but if you put a Mignolet cardboard cutout face on him we might all be fooled
Westwood impressed me when he played, lost his spot due to illness and couldnt get it back. I'm 100% confident Westwood can be a top goalie for us.
He didn`t let us down while Mig was injured. If he had continued without illness Mig may have struggled to get his place back. He`s a very good keeper now and should get even better the more games he plays. If given the opportunity he will be mad keen to prove himself. Another point which seems to have been overlooked is that with Mig now gone, he will already be in top spot, training and playing with the new squad. It`s now up to him to prove a replacement isn`t necessary.
Westwood will do a good job for us. Forget Mig , if you dig back about 18 months ago on here , there were people moaning about Mig being a poor keeper. Not commanding the box , poor distribution ,etc. He did have a very good season last year , but was it a one off ? If it was a one off, we've skinned Liverpool (again). The club have made a decent profit , and has a shoe-in replacement already on the books. Good business.
If Mig had a bad injury we would be in a similar position and nobody would be worried as Westie is there as good cover. This way, we're millions better off.
