Sandfields Colts U16 will represent Swansea against Tenby in the U16's cup final tonight at 7.15 pm Stebonheath, Llanelli.

I know it isn't of much interest to most, but I just wanted to come on here in wishing them all the luck and hope they can nick it and bring the cup back. They have done magnificently to reach this final and I am sure everyone of those players will give everything for the cause tonight. I am more nervous at this time than for any Swans game.

So guys go for it, give it your best and win or loose all the coaches and parents are really proud of what you have done this season.

On a slightly different topic ,I wonder why very little use has been made of Landore as a facility to hold Senior /Junior league games , that was part of the criteria of taking over Landore from the council ,that it would be for the benefit of the community ?

Landore is used by Swansea city teams frequently as it should. pub and club teams have plenty of other places to play...

West Wales cup was always played at The Vetch, granted it was the senior sides.

at the risk of repeating myself , the council as part of the deal to remove the old cricket and football pitches and allow the Club to build the Academy there it was agreed that the new facilities would be community based .Also you're wrong regarding pitches , the allocation of pitches for the Senior league has decreased rapidly over the past couple of years so not theres not plenty of places to play .
One more example how distant the club is becoming from the community ,this year a presentation night is forthcoming for all the age groups from the u9's to u16's , at a cost of £25 per head ,yes thats right £25 per player + parent .We must be skint thats all I can say

Well despite a fantastic display, we ended the game 2-2 but lost it on penalties. great game and advert for youth football.

Boundy last season we played the u15's cup final at RTB, we couldn't have been made to feel less welcome at a place than anywhere my boy has played football. it felt like we were going into Buckingham palace. We weren't allowed to take our mascot in to the changing rooms with us, we weren't allowed water in the changing rooms, it was pathetic and was quite shameful the way both teams were treated and put a damp squib on what should have been a great day for the boys.

Sorry to hear they lost but great that there's still enough youngsters wanting to play .I remember you posting about the game last season , it's a pity that the kids were treated that way as you say spoiling what should have produced some fine memories. When the Vetch was used for finals of all age groups we couldn't have been made more welcome and the same for St Helens & the Liberty .I was down there watching a Academy game beginning of this season and what the opposition parents must have thought I couldn't say but crowded into one corner not being able to watch the game because of the scaffolding in place ,the excuse H & S yet the kids were sat underneath it , they were more concerned about our welfare more than the kids <laugh>
