Not an early thread, lads, just me underlining the necessity for us to keep our focus and get the three points. What a start that would be to this season - six points from two games and likely top of the table as well. And what a massive confidence boost for the lads to kick on towards our first target of 40 points.

Thing is we badly need to win this game otherwise the great result at QPR will have been nullified. Right now, those three points are a bonus and we want to keep it that way, just as in tennis where a break of serve isn't really that until you've held your own.

With no arrogance intended, I reckon we are two goals better than West Ham on our own patch. From what I saw of them last season, and the game against Villa, they seem to be a hard-working team with no frills but lacking the quality to turn us over - a typical Allardyce side.

I hope I'm not wrong but I'm sure that ML will pay them all due respect and get our lads to concentrate and work for the full 90 minutes. We need Ash and Chico to show that "they shall not pass" attitude they produced at QPR and it was good to see Ash put in such a performance with all the questions of unrest circulating about the training. As for Chico, I can see him becoming something of a cult figure with the fans - he just has that aura about him.

    Roll on Saturday!!!!

With big Sam in charge of them expect a physical like stoke does, he knows no different they will be here to get in our faces. But I think the liberty will be a fortress and can see us winning 2-1. If we do 6 points will be a great start to the season

The great thing about our team this season, is that it maybe SCFC second season, but under new managment and new talented footballers coming in, we are an unknown quantity again. Hopefully ML has a plan A,B & C. QPR wernt expecting us to come through the middle yesterday, and hopefully Big Sam will be the one to try his one and only plan A, and thats to bully footballing sides and hopefully ML has got the answer to it. <ok>

Agree with your comments, ivor. Focus is essential. West Ham will be a physical team and another tough test but I worry more about games I'm expecting us to win. <laugh>

This is a banana skin. I fear the players may think this should be a walkover. All it needs is West ham to score once and then sit back. Keep focus and don't under estimate them in the slightest.

Match thread will be ready Wednesday.

We need to build up as many points as possible before Nov so we can relax a bit against some top teams & get points from them too . The West Ham game would be a massive 3 points if we can muster it !

West Ham will be difficult, just like QPR actually !! you never can tell these days folks, thats the beauty of the British game, watching Southampton give city a scare just proves to me that every point will need to be hard fought, as i said before one swallow dont make a summer though the early signs are good, we are no where near being a dead cert to stay up, like all Jacks im enjoying this weekend but the moment we think we;ve cracked this premier league malarky is the moment things go pear shaped IMO.

Im sure the players and the manager know the score,we are still learning to intergrate the new boys and our passing can still improve 20% you find out more about your team with a defeat than with a victory so we dont yet know what the class of 2012 is made of yet.

I fancy us to sneak a win on saturday but i expect it to be no walkover, QPR had the attitude that they were going to just roll over us,and for the first 20mins they were right to think that, lets not fall into the same trap as those guys, lets give west ham the respect they deserve, remember how much it pisses us off when other teams assume we are the easy prey ?? let there be no big time giving it large viewpoints after the first game! lets enjoy the day/weekend but remember every single team in this league can put 5 past you on any given day <ok>

swans to sneak it 2-1 i reckon, maybe a red card for west ham if big sam sends them out to kick us off the park, proper ref permitting of course :)

Fat Sam will get them set up for taking a point with a no frills approach. If we can get that early goal then it could be 3-1 if they manage to go one up then it could be a long hard game. 6 pts from 2 will be fantastic.

Agree there KJ, but wasn't it great to see how good we are in the air now as compared to last season, when every set piece against us was always nail biting time!

I just hope the Fortress Liberty is still as strong as last term <ok>
