I'd love to know how this phone call went "Alright Davey it's West 'Am callin'" How ****ing awkward must that have been "I know we sacked you after doing an arguably good job but, We ****ed it up again mate."
they paid a lot to pellagrini and probs looked at us under bruce and have fallen for it big time... They will be thinking just hire some dinosaur it matter not one bit, but soon they will see us spiralling to despair and they will have made yet another error themselves
Weird appointment. Moyes will have around 15minutes before the fans are on his back. Going to be toxic there. Will love them to get relegated, bloody strange club.
Before Moyes turned up Rice was a youth team CB, Arnie was a winger, absolutely ****, and looked a complete waste of money, our players looked unfit, dispirited and the manager didn't have a clue as to what was wrong,we were going down. When he left 6 months later Arnie was one of the best strikers in the prem and Rice was being touted as future England DM (which he is now) and we were mid-table. Atm Haller looks a complete waste of money, completely isolated up front and starved of any service, our players look unfit, dispirited and our manager didn't have a clue as to what was wrong, we were going down. As much as I want Kovac, Danny Cowley, pochettino, it's not a surprise that they've given it to the person who turned around a similar situation the last time.
fans are easily fooled these days mate … look at us for example hire a crap manager then compare his results vs a side the last manager had before we were good … its all nonsense really.. literally any manager going in will have short term success by simply giving a few cast offs a run in team, but soon enough a bad manager will demonstrate why they are not successful... it's a case of getting someone in at this stage rather than getting someone good.
Fans are unreasonable these days 'top 6' 'big club' 'attractive football', they're ****ing deluded. when I was first dragged to Upton Park we were 7th in Division 2, you'd just been relegated too iirc. I've seen some truly attrocious football being played at UP over the years, but the only time there was booing of the club or crowd discontent was during 'the bond scheme' and it was quite clearly aimed at the board. Now we have a similar problem to you, the ownership and unreasonable demands of the fans has caused a toxicity in the crowd they're always willing to express at every opportunity.
I completely agree. We (NUFC) are measured against that brief flirtation with success from the mid-90's and the brief revival under SBR at the turn of the millennium. We seem to forget the 70's, (most of the) 80's and the stints with Dalglish, Gullit, Sam, Roeder, Carver, McLaren. The crowd in recent years - helped into apathy by the ludicrous ownership of Ashley - have been turgid. Even a run that had seen one home defeat since August didn't help. Again, praise be to Ashley for that. But our "style" is a blip. We'd love to be Entertainers, but that was a tiny period of time in our 128 years of existence. West Ham are the same, as are Everton. I heard some moron bleating on about "playing the Everton way". Wtf? The Everton way in my entire lifetime has been functional, long ball football. Their better times were when they had a big lad playing up front and were always better as an aggressive, direct team. Anyone thinking or claiming the "Everton way" is something like Barca is mental. The only teams I think who can genuinely claim to have a way of playing are Manchester United and Liverpool. Everyone else is far too up and down, or too recently successful, to have an identity as deeply rooted as that.
I disagree Newcastle are measured on being the 9th most successful side in England despite not having won anything for 50 years, so at a time we were more than simply flirting with success as we did under keegan and bobby, even without that being considered we should expect more than being 17th best in England. I agree on this play a certain way crap , but even man united and Liverpool are full of **** if they think they have that certain way it's bull
at least your fans can remember your golden period, ours is a mythical version of the mid 60's in which England winning the world cup was solely down to the Pele-esque skills and free-flowing style of the 3 West Ham players. West Ham won the world cup is an ironic joke to me, and was to our supporters, but I think some actually believe it.
our golden period was not under keegan or bobby … weve won loads just not in the short term. we used to be one of the bigguns and that shows given we're still the 9th most successful club in England having done nothing but come second and lost in cup finals for 50 years . right now Newcastle is a small club because football has nothing to do with history , size of the club or fan numbers,, It's about money and holding all the cards. west ham are no different than any other club including ours imo and they have a loyal fanbase and a great history unlike many clubs people say are big clubs these days
no mate pack that in, we’re ****ter than you. And lots of other clubs. Some still think we can get the Keegan days back.. seriously. hell I’d take the Pardew days back right now. @Warm Pouch
