Have a look at this I know it's the sun but......................... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3712043/Arsene-Wenger-in-a-rage-at-tap-ups.html So Mr Wenger are you saying that you did not publicly say that you were Interested in Chamberlain turning the young lads head then? Probably not tapping up but just as bad as
Wenger is a ****. I used to like him, but he behaves like a petty child, he's a hypocrite, a bad loser and too stubborn to realize that his tactic of buying young and cheap isn't going to get any silverware.
You have to admit though that Wenger does have a point. Although it is mainly the media that for what ever reason are the main ones for "tapping up players" on behalf in most cases of the agents involved. It would not surprise me to learn that some of these sports editors are on back handers when it when comes to speculation of that type. One of these days someone will blow the whistle. People are beginning to trust the papers less and less........
I do believe Mr. Wenger came out in January and referred to Alex Chamberlain in an interview and how he was hopeful of signing him. Or do previous Window Tap ups not count?
Everyone complains about tapping up, but everyone does it. According to the article Tottenham are complaining about City tapping up Modric, and how many times has Redknapp tapped up people? I like Wenger though, he seems quite dignified most of the time except for when he loses his cool but so does everyone occasionally. Plus he's less annoying than Ferguson.
Never liked the man since he slated Saints when we won 3-1 at home and Sol Cambell was sent off for tackle from behind as Beatty was going through one on one with the keeper. Beatty scored twice that day - a long range free kick following a foul from behind just before half-time and second half penalty (after the sending off). Wenger bleated afterwards saying the free kick and the penalty were serious errors of judgement. I watched MOTD that evening and saw absolutely nothing wrong with the goals - neither did the pundits. Until that time I held Wenger with a great deal of respect - I saw another side of him that night and he has worsened ever since. I have no respect for the man - he is two faced - sulky - bordering on childish... A manager who enjoyed success on the defence created by George Graham supplimented by hard-nosed buggers like Viera who sustained that success for a while afterwards; now he complains constantly about other teams being too physical - yet it was the physicality of those earlier teams which gave him success when married to the wonderful skills of Berkampt (excuse the spelling!) and others.
He certainly has deteriorated as a football person ever since. Likes taking credit, not very good at dealing with difficult situations.
No silverware for 6 years is an epic failure for a club like Arsenal, I can't believe he is still manager to be honest.
Cant stand him. The way he is reflects in his players as well - they way players like Bergkamp, Cole, Henry etc seem to think they are above being tackled and any form of bodily contact on the pitch. He is the worst loser I have ever come across. It is constantly one rule for him and another for everyone else. He hasnt helped with a lot of english players careers - Jeffers, Wright, Walcott, Pennant.
