http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/180799.html I actually felt really sorry for him. I'm not saying the man doesn't have his faults but the chants were totally uncalled for!
Last week he was a god this week a joke...unfortunately that's football today. The worrying thing (for gooners) is that the away fans for these types of games are supposed to be the genuine fans ... if they are seriously turning on him then it could well be a long winter
I don't agree with the chants but that interview by Wenger is a disgrace. I am a neutral and when an interviewer asks about a substitute or a decision I want to hear the answer because I am interested in the game and the tactics. I don't want to hear a manager say he won't give answers because he has lots of experience and doesn't feel like explaining himself. You would think that since he is one of the highest paid managers in the world and his club receives millions from premier league sponsors then it would not be the greatest insult to speak about football for a couple of minutes.
Hahaha. The irony of a Liverpool fan saying that. You must have HATED every single interview Kenny gave last season.
I don't see why Wenger didn't answer the Q? That just makes the situation worse. He's just digging himself in now into a me vs the world mentality, and that's not a good sign at all.
They're paying supporters, who made a journey, so they have a right to vent, so don't put your smart " beside them to try and question them, when you're not the one who made the trip, and I don't give a **** if you live in America or China, when I didn't live in the UK I still made Arsenal games, including HISTORICAL ONES, I witnessed our game when we matched the unbeaten record of 42, and when we broke it at 43. But let's not get into all that, so control yourself and have respect for others, and stop trying to question everybody else' support when they just don't happen to align with you or your mindset of how they should behave.
What's funny OXO, if you know anything about away fans, which you don't seem to, you'd know that away fans, and it's even been said on this board, are the real diehard fans, LOL, and now you're questioning them too with your witty "? First they came for the home fans Now they're coming for the away fans too. Until you EVER go to an Arsenal game, and put money into this club, don't ever dare question any supporter that does. And if you don't like me saying this, then don't question other people's support, and then you're lack of attendance at the Emirates won't be questioned or brought up, you know 2 can play the game of saying who's the better supporter, and you sure as hell are in no position to question anyone's support. I'm sure you love the Arsenal, and are a supporter and fan, and you don't like it when someone brings the points I do, so by the same token don't be witty and question other people's support, cause that's getting so ****ing old, and it's an insult as well.
What the hell are you saying? Insult. When the same type of people booed off Eboue, Arshavin. Second when did I question anyone, when did I say anyone is the "better supporter?" I buy the kits and merchandise, that's putting money into the club.
You said "supporters" when you put the " that's meant to be ironic, and question of them being actual supporters. Don't put no " for them because these guys are Arsenal through and through, it's because they love the club so much that they vent like that, you think they vent like that because their fake supporters? THE OPPOSITE, it's because their so angry and HURT that they're reacting like that, even Wenger said that before, it's because the fans care and love the club, that they get angry. These are away fans, end of story, you don't have to explain much more when someone's an away fan, so to even try and question their support, is moving beyond the absurd. So they hopped on a train, all the way to Birmingham, in what was a very very very **** day in terms of weather, rainy, cold, windy, spent a lot of money, and practically hours and hours, so how you gonna call into question their support by saying "supporters" with the "? They did all of that and in return they got a toothless performance, off course they have a right to vent. They didn't turn up for free, they weren't given a chauffeur service by the club.
If they loved the club through and through, they wouldn't jeer a member of the coaching or playing staff. I think Ramsey's crap, doesn't mean i'd boo him. I think wenger got it wrong today, doesn't mean i'll tell him how to do his job, the job he's done at a high level for 16 years, and has more experience than the fickle football manager generation. Le Boss has every right to feel pissed off.
They do love the club through and through, you're not the one in a position of power to be going around passing judgement.
Let's even look at this logically, they don't really love the club through and through, so basically, they spent the whole day for Arsenal, with the traveling back and forth, went to Birmingham in the cold, rainy, and windy weather. Spent a lot of money too in that process. And yes, with all of this they've done for Arsenal, they still don't love Arsenal through and through, according to you, who doesn't even regularly attend games, right...... As I said, you're not the to judge others, you don't have the authority, and nobody gave you the authority, so it don't even matter to a flying **** about you questioning their support.
I didn't question their loyalty, i questioned their brainpower. You want to inspire the team to play well, you don't do that by shouting "You don't know what you're doing". You save that for opponent managers.
Wenger brought on Gervinho and Arshavin and but for a last second interception by Clark, they would have got a goal and an assist and we would have won the game. So the chants of 'you don't know what you're doing' are a load of bollocks frankly
Perfectly reasonable view...but of course those fans, indeed any fans, have the right to voice dissent. £7m a year should be enough to have thicker skin tbf.
The crowd is turning and has been for the last 2 years. I'm a huge Wenger fan but if the club doesnt add the required quality and start competing I could see the hole Wenger era coming to a rather unpleasant end. To be fair to the Arsenal fans though at most big clubs the crowds would have lost patience years ago.
