Let's hope there is some substance to it, it's rumbled on for longer than the Ameobi saga.

i think there is this time <ok>

if it were just sky sports reporting it i'd be doubting it but its widespread. it all added up to a move for snodgrass over the last week what with leeds going public etc and it felt like it would be a matter of when, not if, so would be pleased if it all gets sorted before the weekend.

That must be you two empathising with the sour, bitter taste in Colin's mouth as he prepares to accept yet another defeat and setback <ok>

Interesting if true, and rather nice if we can get one over on old PL, who was a big fan. I can see the Leeds board going bananas though. <laugh>

Good news for us but I can't help feeling for some of the Leeds fans, seeing their emerging 'star players' walk out of the door one by one, mostly to Norfolk.

I hope, if the deal goes through, the money is spent wisely to get them back in to the top half of the Championship and looking for a top 6 place but I fear they may have another struggle on their hands again this coming season.

Now I've recovered I'm a lot happier about the news!

Although I fear that every time I'm reminded of Snodgrass I will be reminded of the off milk.

at this rate they'll be changing their anthem to 'marching on to norwich'.

i do have sympathy for their fans - but we know how they feel - it wasn't so long ago that we had our best players sold under our nose every five minutes.

My mind goes back to the early 90's when Fox, Sutton etc. were practically given away by Chase

It's true, he was seen in Morrisons car park this morning, talking to a black bloke with a map, he seemed to be pointing this lost soul in the direction of Ipswich!

Brilliant - yet another sizeable sum spent on yet another midfielder to go with the sizeable sum recently spent on another midfielder!! Last year we had 5 recognised centre backs in the squad and 4 specialist full backs and even then, with injuries and suspensions, we had to resort to playing people out of position. Of that 9 only 6 are left plus we have added Whittaker, who has never played in England before and will need time to adjust, and on top of that faces the possibility, albeit remote, of not getting permanent clearance to play. To complicate matters further he is now injured, hopefully not seriously, and both Ayala and Tierney are coming back from long term injuries. On top of that the general concensus appears to be that Ward, Barnett or both are not up to it and need to go. That means we need to buy between 2 ( if we keep Ward and Barnett ) and 4 ( if we let them go ) just to get back to last years numerical situation - which proved inadequate at times. Quality defenders cost money and I suspect that the cost of even 2 will exhaust the kitty. Snodgrass might well be an excellent player but do we need another midfielder? I personally feel that we still need 3 quality defenders and I really cannot see how CH will have the funds to do it after payment for Snodgrass.

i think you've misjudged, quite badly, how important another winger is to us. firstly, not sure if you watched the match last night but hughton set us up to play with great width. on our books we have bennett and pilkington and... that's it out wide! we were always in need of extra wide options anyway and snodgrass can play on either flank and is both footed. not only that but he can play off the strikers or deeper too. he gives us enormous options going forward. also, if you are so annoyed about signing midfielders, be prepared for further disappointment because we quite blatantly require a defensive enforcer too. on the defenisve front, i agree we need two more - a centre back is required and i think a left back too, but if we say spend £4m on a centre back and loan a full back, that should be more than enough. we have francomb coming through who i believe is ready to challenge for a right back berth, so not too sure what the panic is.
