I probably won't be on here for a while purely because I am so angry with the ref and what happened today, but I'd just like to say well done on the win today. I don't want to come across as bitter so I won't talk about the match. Thought you defended well and retained the ball well though. Warnock got the team and tactics spot on.
Cheers guys. The way you played with 9 was a credit to the club and there wasn't nearly as much 'aggro' as I thought there would be off the pitch.
Well said DL. I must add however that Chelsea looked rattled from the start but played better with 9 than 11
Thanks to both of you. You are clearly a fantastic team, you seemed at times to out number us with only 9 players, but today was our day.
Yep, cheers DL, it was one of those days when everything went our way, although we were in your faces from the off and clearly unsettled you. As Jamie Redknapp said, Andre Villas Boas has probably never encountered the atmosphere there was in the ground today, a real blood and thunder PL derby game with no quarter given. All credit to Chelsea for making all the running with nine men but today was not your day...
Also credit to both QPR and Chelsea fans today. QPR fans were superb and I thought played a huge part in the result today, they created a cauldron today, it was pretty amazing, probably on par with West Ham and WHL as well. I've been to Old Trafford and Loftus Road, you would think after today it was QPR that had the crowd of 76,000 people. As a Blue, it hurts to lose a WL Derby, no matter what I or other CFC fans may say, QPR are a rival and it's never nice but unlike United, it was filled with geniune football supporters. I know there is one person on here that travelled from Oslo and I can take consolation out of the fact people like this at least had a worthwile trip. Our supporters were also magnificent, true support. If QPR stay up, this derby could easily become one of the biggest LDN derbies IMO. Never seen a League game like today, atmosphere was special. Chelsea will bounce back after this, we have shown we are a better team than many give us credit for. Many teams would have lost 4 or 5 today. Ref decisions shouldn't mask over the fact that our players couldn't handle the pace or intensity of the game. Forget Fulham this is what it's all about. Don't know what I'll do if we lose to Arsenal on Saturday
Cheers District, just watched it back again on sky and don't think the ref got many decisions wrong today. The atmosphere today was fantastic, just like the good old days!
Thanks DL and HammersmithBlue. Your 9 men were a credit to your club - even if Lampard was one of our best defenders!!!
At last, you realise that it's a huge derby!! You've spent the last few days telling us that it isn't. Also, I don't know why you're so pissed off about the ref. Bosingwa has hold of SWP's shirt and he wasn't going to catch him. Terry was never getting across, so it's a sending off. Drogba's challenge was just terrible and Cole would have gone, having already been booked, for his late lunge on Barton, but the ref was blowing up for full time!! David Luis also could easily have been given a 2nd yellow. I agree that you did very well with 9 men and could easily have got an equaliser. Overall, it was our day and the atmosphere was truly electric. URrrsss!!
