The data is a bit unfair, considering Vettel has had the fastest car for the longest period in that time, and Vettel and Button are the only 2 drivers to have had competitive cars from 2009 to now.
The data is a bit unfair, considering Vettel has had the fastest car for the longest period in that time, and Vettel and Button are the only 2 drivers to have had competitive cars from 2009 to now. ............... didnt post the stats to make button out to be the second best driver or anything, my post was in response to the post making out he has been useless apart from that 1 season. in reality he is second only to vettel in points over the past 2.5 years, the mclaren was only a bad car for half of jensons title winning season so he hasnt really had a massive advantage over other drivers in that time frame, he just took his opportunity where as barricello didnt, hamilton struggled for 6 months in 2009 and red bull were full of DNF's for 1.5 years. what ever you say about button, he is very reliable and keeps scoring the points. not sure he had any DNF's in his title winning season, it wasnt all about the car like some people make out. in fact mclaren were the fastest car for half of 2009 with hamiton outscoring everyone towards the end
I calculate that Jenson scored 385 not 395 points over that period. That would put Webber ahead of him. However, why pick the last 2.5 years?
because it was in response to a post saying he has done nothing apart from that 1 season, so i looked up the stats from total points from that period onwarsds, would of been unfair on him and vettel to calculate from an earlier period when both were in slow cars. cant be bothered to check my calculations so im gonna assume it is 385, still considering the dominace of red bull, he is the leading non redbull driver over that period
But how many mistakes did the others make is the question? I can't find a complete onboard lap for Alonso or Massa, which is a shame, as it'd have been nice to compare how clean their laps were.
