I took my boy to his first away game on Saturday and I have to say as a club they made you feel welcome. The QPR sign over the refreshments, staff wearing loftus road t shirts and tv playing our old games. Im sure this is done to illicit more funds from us and maybe avoid some people abusing the staff but maybe a blue print for us in our new stadium

Sounds like good commercial tactics for them to use.

This is the way forward. Make the away fans feel like they are spending money in their own club.

I know Norwich do this too, they're probably not the only ones. Reduces any friction I guess.

I loved that at reading last season, especially playing the videos, to there credit lfc staff had ffc tops with Haynes on the back, a lot of teams could learn from this

    Decent idea!

On another note- over my stream it sounded like their fans were complete garbage, can this be verified?

    They were awful mate.
At times, we all went "ssshhh" and listened to the silence. The only time they made any noise was when they scored and for a few minutes afterwards. Also, unbelievably, with the game in the balance at 1-1 they were leaving in their droves well before the 90th minute!

Must agree on their stewards and the showing of our videos etc............excellent idea.

Sounds an excellent way to get 'visitors' onside. Apparently at Brighton's ground the away end changes colour to that of the visiting team and it's supposed to be one of the best for visiting fans, I'm looking forward to going there when we play them in March...

That would be a good game to go to from here.

Cheap flight into Gatwick and a quick train down to the coast.

The only downside, it would require an overnight hotel stay as it's midweek.

I particularly liked at Millwall how they ensured us Rs fans had enough time to mingle amongst one another before the game by having just one girl serving beers to about 150 people.....it was most delightful.

Not only that, I believe that they even sang “Come on you Rs!”… Which really is beyond the call of duty.

    Sweet really.

They've got that naff drum and shout "ahhh" at the end of every chant too. Those fake hoops really grind on me...

Maybe we should play clips for opposing fans, but pick really boring/depressing ones. Just to contribute to a sombre mood.

Millwall would show videos of the London Riots and friendly staff handing out free razor blades concealed in the hamburgers...
