Charlie Longsdon apprentice, Kielan Woods, rode out his claim today with a hard fought win on the yards Long Wave. This victory followed a fantastic ride yesterday on Sail And Return. Having met Kielan on several occasions I can vouch for what a thoroughly nice young man he is and I am always impressed when watching him ride. He sits very quietly on a horse and is never seen getting one unbalanced, he reminds a lot of a young Richard Johnson. When he has to be strong in the finish he isn't usually found wanting. Life is going to get a lot tougher now for Kielan without the claim and not being first choice at Hull Farm but I sincerely hope that he gets plenty of opportunities to show off his undoubted talent. Well done and best of luck young man.
Some of these up and coming apprentices are better than established jockeys. Seems to be a present trend.
