It looks like DC was correct not to sign Turley!

If you remember, he was training with Rovers for about 8 weeks & Rovers paid for scans etc keeping an eye on him in order to sign him. There was a verbal agreement between both player and club pending a positive scan on his arm.

However the scan showed Turley wasnt ready as the report came back as inconclusive. DC didnt want to take a gamble on Turley because of this but wanted to get a 2nd opinion and booked a 2nd scan.

But Turley signed for Eastleigh before the 2nd scan could take place which upset DC because of the time, effort and cost involved in those 8 weeks. DC found out that He had signed for Eastleigh by a text message from his agent! DC wanted to speak with Turley but Turley never got back to him. Im sure DC felt very let down.

Im glad that we didnt sign him as I dont want disloyal players with that attitude who didnt have the guts to talk to DC at our club.

Maybe DC felt gutted when Turley made his debut for Eastleigh and won man of the match. But I am now sure DC will feel he made the correct decision not to gamble on Turley (after the inconclusive scan report) after todays news.....

After his man of the match display on his debut for Eastleigh a fortnight ago, he missed the defeat against Wrexham last Saturday because of illness, but was then ruled out of the 1-1 draw with Rovers earlier this week after taking a blow to his arm during training on Monday. Eastleigh are now awaiting the results of tests, but manager Richard Hill confirmed:
“It looks like the fall has put him back a few weeks. This is a blow because the medical tests we had done on Jamie before we signed him gave him the all-clear. We did our due diligence and everything indicated he was fit.”

Eastleigh thought they got it right when they took the gamble on him and he impressed on his debut but I bet they now think Rovers was right!!

Bravo DC for sticking to your guns and only signing players who are not injured unlike past managers.
