You have to admire Danny Welbeck although he scored for Arsenal he did not try to deny he felt for the team that he played for since he was eight years old until last year, what you would expect from a decent guy.
But wasn't it your fans who castigated Chopra when he "missed" an open goal against us when he was playing for your lot. You couldn't get more honourable than that!!!!
Andy Carroll at Liverpool was a good one. He literally had no interest in scoring against us. He did similar at West Ham when we won 3-1. I don't think you can beat Chopra though. The mackems went nuts about that. Lee Clark was very respectful about his Newcastle ties...
Anyone that joined a club when he was eight years old and played for them a number of years would certainly feel some affinity for that club , unless he was some sort of narcissist , but then again it takes all kinds
This whole not celebrating when you score against a team you used to play for is ridiculous (and I am sure the players do it to avoid abuse from the fans). There is nothing better than putting one over on players you know well and I am sure Wellbeck enjoyed the moment immensely. Notice David Luis didn't hold back last night when he scored and then apologised afterwards.
I think you'll find that those who won the KGB game (whoever they were) showed tremendous restraint out of respect for their otherwise fellow posters and Toon fans, despite recording a magnificent victory that would have been wildly celebrated by some of the best tactical geniuses known throughout history. Some people just have stronger morals and, quite frankly, more class than others.
What sort of song is this for Liars, its soppy, has no aggression or intent to deceive. The Wee Sinful Dwarf needs a proper Liar song... How come you're still Trevor, Trev...it not right
