WEEKEND PAST

Right lads and ladies, just a quick hello and thanks to everyone I met before the Brum game. Great to meet Gessa, Chesh, Glory, Leeds60, Lee, Davy, Heidi, Jammy, Wakey, Eire, WJ, I know I've forgotten some names so remind me and apologies. Result was **** and missing my flight didn't help either. But got home so that was nice. Great sharing with Davy. Hope to see you all for the Bristol game.

 

Enjoyed the day immensely Shaks apart from the game. Must admit I was wondering would you make that very early Sunday flight. I wouldnt have fancied it

 

Cheers Eire. I was thinking the same about you. How did you get on getting a taxi? The annoying thing is my young lad asked reception to give me a wake up call, but that never happened, Davys alarm never went off and I forgot(well didn't know how) to set my phone alarm. I also got a good nights sleep.

I had no problem with taxi. Prebooked one but he didnt turn up. Was only qeueing about twenty minutes at the taxi rank and was at airport for 6.30

 

what time did you get in the armchair bud.

I was in it at 11.15. Not bad and had a good snooze on plane and bus home so all was well

 

.....and you said the Plaza forgot your wake up call..... That's two places now. Perhaps there is a strategy to boost lunchtime hotel bar takings on the Sunday.

The only difference was I made the flight while in the Plaza, but that's because my young lad woke me up and it's ironic that I got to bed around 12, but the Plaza it was 2 and woken at 3.30......

 

Not today Lee, I wanted to know would he recommend any betting establishments................

 

Kinda worried really. He was worse for wear in the casino and after a couple of incidents there were 3 bouncers that came up to talk to him. Then he was gone out a back door. Casinos have loads of CCTV to protect themselves from gambling frauds. Mate Dave asked what was wrong and bouncers said they had him on camera flicking bear over the balcony then bumping someone at the bar. We were watching boxing as he was going to the bar, then he was gone.

 

Probably just sleeping it off Lee.

The shame of it. Imagine wasting beer!

Was ill for a few days leading up to the match. All came to a head yesterday, hence no posting. Recovering today. Slowly.

Great to meet up with the lads. Looking forward to the next meet-up. I'm off on holibags again at the weekend, until November 11th. Posting will be sporadic at best as cruising mostly in the Indian Ocean. Tough gig, but someone's got to do it!
