I have pondered on that. If the team changed the manager, all or most of the players, changed the strip, moved grounds, renamed the ground and maybe even renamed the club itself, is it still the same team? Why would a fan continue to follow it?

 

You’re describing MK Dons, a lot didn’t follow it and helped set up AFC Wimbledon.

 

Cardiff changed shirt colour and got slated and think the previous Hull owner tried it too to mass action from fans

 

I thought leeds looked good in their all red change kit in the 70's myself
