Exactly this. If Rutter is THAT good we won't get him. Other bigger fish will be watching. If he's actually quite **** then we might get him and regret it later after squandering next summers budget on him. In reality, I can't see us smashing our transfer record on a 20 year old striker who doesn't score goals.
I’m glass half full and if this deal comes off I will be made up. I have no doubt Marsch will play him if he comes and then it’s just a case of hoping he hits the ground running. If he fails maybe the club fail too but it’s fingers crossed time
Like all transfers this might or mightn’t pan out. But I’d rather see us fail having made a proper effort in January re transfers rather than sitting on our arses doing nothing. Don’t see it as a financial risk either. Most we’ll be handing over this year on last two transfers is six or seven million. If relegated well sell on and remaining four payments won’t have to be made. Win win
