Hello, crew. Members, please be upstanding for Mr Henderson. The forum’s favourite, following Saturday’s Hennessy, has managed to shed a further 3 lbs off Bobs worth chasing perch – now 150. There is now every possibility, that if the former CGC winner runs in the GN, he will shoulder an impost of just over 10 and a half stone. And should a superstar, rated in the high 160’s, turn up it could be even lower – which is more than likely given the huge prizemoney on offer and the dearth of opportunities available for the very best over the big ‘uns. Wonderful plotting by Mr Henderson.
and going back over hurdles to keep the mark too. That man is inspired. Either that or the horse is on the downgrade and his win over Simonsig was mediocre at best. I guess its how you tell 'em.
Nassie, of course Bobs Worth is on the downgrade that’s why his perch has fallen from 180 to 150! He doesn’t need to be anywhere near his former class to be highly, highly, highly competitive off 150. Mr Henderson did much the same with Long Run in the 15 or so months leading up to the 2014 GN – getting his perch down from 178 to 160. OK, so ultimately he didn’t oblige there but Mr Henderson certainly got him into the heat with an amazing chance to do so and he’s done much the same with Bobs Worth. Anything could happen both before and during the GN to prevent him winning it but Mr Henderson has done his job, thus far, and potentially got him into the race on a very attractive perch. Surely, you acknowledge that he was never in the Hennessy to win it but get a perch reduction.
Beefy, as everyone on the forum knows Mr Henderson has the straightest bat in racing. He was merely participating in, and honing his skills in, the art of handicapping. Nothing untoward whatsoever. Merely, conducting a bit of surgery to ensure Bobs Worth was a viable proposition in the future.
Ah, well someone should really have told his Camilla, she was prattling on like a good un about Bobs being primed for a big run in the Hen. Throw in the fact that she supports Swindon Town (I know, I know), and I sincerely doubt that she was in on this cunning ploy. He might be ok in a veteran chase in time, although perhaps they need to go P2P with him, find him his level old bean.
What’s the old saying, ‘Never trust a word a trainer says. And double that in the case of his daughter!’ No, no, no, old girl Camilla had probably just simply misread the memo and got a bit confused. You’re not suggesting I hope that the ‘dreaded’ Vicky Pendlebury rides him in one of these P2Ps?!?
Yeah, what a good idea. I think you should put that forward. I am sure he will love doing that, after all he is well known for putting corinthians on horses that they don't deserve to ride.
SBC, I can't be having Bobs worth for the national off any mark. He's just not a natural over the larger obstacles and showed that again in the Hennessy. He's just too small and I'm glad Hendo has said he'll go back to hurdles.
I feel obliged have a tenner each way on PALACE MOON 50/1 Lingfield 3.00 today. Has recently moved from William Knight to forum favourite Michael Attwater in an attempt to freshen the 10 year old up. If the ploy works on his old form he would be over 20lbs well in! In other news from Epsom the lovely two year old BUZZ LIGHTYERE goes to Lingfield next Monday where it is felt the surface will suit him much better than Kempton. He has progressed very nicely since making his debut and impressed in recent work. We will be hopeful of a very good run.
