    Good morning all.

    Hope everyone is well.

Patriotic day with the football tonight. Am looking forward to the game.

    Anyhow, to horse racing.

    3:55 Salisbury - Rock Choir 5/2.

Nicely bred. Was impressed with her last time. Will need to improve again but feel she will.

Good luck all. Have a great day.

hi people, haven't been on for a while, the weekday racing at this time of year is akin to 'silly season'-- low grade, bookie fodder, but as we all know , there is only a winner in every race-- so sometimes these low grade affairs provide opportunity for unexposed animals to have their day in the limelight-- i'm sure owners and trainers don't care whether its a seller at Yarmouth, a win is a win.

Having said that, its difficult to find much enthusiasm for the cards today, the only race of note is the one Ollie has highlighted, and i wouldn't oppose his selection.

I am going to do a lucky 15 without much conviction , but hope to at least break even ! Mahadee , Anne's Rocket, Coalburn, Point of Control-- the first two are handicapped to win-- the other two are speculative--Coalburn was entered up a short while ago--attracted money and then withdrawn--is in a very weak race tonight--yard in fair form-- the last one is taking a step up in trip which should help, but as i said earlier-- no great hopes--- good luck to all who 'play'--!!

In that 3.55 race Ollie, I like the look of Mango Diva at 6/1. Unexposed at this distance and trained by SMS. Beaten only half a length by Hot Snap last September, is good enough for me at 6/1.

It is Ladies’ Day at Beverley so all the East Yorkshire slappers will have been down to Primark for a new dress and the bookies will be taking pound bets all afternoon while they swill Pimms and try to pull their heals out of the lawns.

The seven races start with a Class 6 claimer, followed by Class 5 maiden and maiden auction for two year olds. In the Class 5 sprint handicap that is the fourth race, will course specialist (and favourite) Bondi Beach Boy get some of the housekeeping money back? The fifth race is a Class 4 handicap not sponsored by key sponsor The Journal but the last two Class 5 handicaps are sponsored by its affiliates.

Since the fixture is virtually always a sellout, why bother putting on any decent races as most of them will not know one end of a horse from the other? This is symptomatic of racing’s general problem: meetings like Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood are social events where there just happens to be racing, so most of those in attendance are not racegoers.

I expect that the attendance at Beverley on Thursday, with a similarly uninspiring card, will be quite meagre. It is a dreadful card, opening with a Class 6 selling handicap and concluding with two divisions of a Class 6 amateur riders’ handicap. In between there is a Class 5 fillies maiden, a Class 5 fillies handicap, a Class 5 nursery, a Class 5 three-year-old handicap and the feature race, a Class 4 two mile handicap.

Looking elsewhere for a decent race today, the Salisbury 3:20 looks made for punters. The favourite, Russian Realm is surely only leading the market thanks to his pedigree: Dansili ex Russian Rhythm. Although Monsieur Rieussec only won a four-runner event last time, his penultimate race victory was in quite a valuable nine-runner event so there is good reason to believe that Ted Durcan can bring up the hat-trick.

The Salisbury 3:55 looks like one for the favourite Rock Choir, which is clearly improving rapidly but is not a workable price.

How the hell did FFoS get away with the name of the 4.40 today!!

What a great company name. Thorpe could be an appropriate winner and I'm sure the Queen would be pleased to have that on her stud card if White Month won.

2.30 Ffos las Landau 12/1 ew

3.00 Ffos las The *****ose 7/2

    3.55 Sailsbury Rock Choir 9/4

Singles on all 3 and double on last 2

Also Caranbola in the 3.45 ive been told could be the one to get mel back in the winners enclosure. Although 9/1 is long gone, its now as low as 9/2 so I wont be betting because I like the fav.

I had a good luck at Mango Diva Ron and agree that form is solid with Hot Snap. I just think Rock Choir is a big improver and impressive the last twice.

Likewise Wooly's pick Hippy Hippy Shake won well last time but I've followed that horse and did desert it last time and personally don't think would have won last time if the favourite hadn't refused to race.

Rude and tward fingers crossed we are on the winner!!!

Interesting as a few picks across the forum in the race. Good luck all.

Amralah is a tentative choice for the 3.20 at Salisbury. Had classic entries at the start of the season but then had a setback.

I am going to have to stop tipping these horses that are on a hat-trick. I have backed a load of them in the last few weeks and I think they have hardly run a place between them.

No idea what Durcan was doing on Monsieur Rieussec: totally changed the tactics and then hung right across the course throwing away any winning chance. The punters agreed with me that Russian Rhythm’s son Russian Realm had done nothing to suggest it had any of its mother’s ability and sent them off joint favourites but Ryan Moore got him home.

It does not augur well for hat-trick seeking Rock Choir.

Well done to the Mango Diva fan club. I left Rock Choir alone as it was too short a price for the task in hand and the jockey was new to the horse (the two wins were for Seb Sanders).

As the ground has gone soft at Ffos Las, I may skip Bohemian Rhapsody in the 4:40 as it has to lump around 10 stone and has never won on softer than good.
