Coming for you! One point behind lads, in all honesty we will probably be back in the drop zone by Saturday evening haha.

So what do you guys think will be the outcome come dusk on Saturday?, I think your lot is more likely to pull something off at home to City than we are away to Man U as we have a few knocks from last night that will probably keep Johnson, Rose & Bardo out but even with these players it would have been tough.

I watched your game against Fulham and you should have definitely took a point but for poor defending at set pieces where I thought was your strong point last season, Ben Arfa's goal was awesome and you can count on him to pull something out the bag when you need it.

    MY VERDICT:

    Newcastle 1-2 City
    Man U 3-1 Sunderland

Typical Mackems only bothered about finishing above us! Think we both should be concentrating on fighting against relegation not looking at what others are doing. To be honest, I just don't give a damn!!

In answer to the topic in question, we'll both get hammered, no doubt!

I think we will both struggle this weekend. We are facing class sides who have different motivations for needing a win. I actually think Sunderland have the easier task. Man U can afford to lose, I'm not sure Citeh or Mankini can. But I expect both will lose, and both games could get messy in terms of goals conceded for the north east sides.

Have to say I honestly don't care where we finish in comparison to you lads, don't understand this North East mini league of mediocrity. Hardly something to get excited about surely? Fair enough if we were competing for the league or fighting for a european spot. Even then Europe is not all its cracked up to be now outside the CL. Generally though in recent years we haven't been. Either we've both been mid table, we were way ahead or one of us has been going down. Sad state of affairs unfortunately. I know a few mackems from the not606 got upset when I said this over the last few years but I've been consistent with it whether we're ahead or behind. Basically I think both clubs should be aspiring to better things.

Edit: What am I talking about? You pissed Fergie and Rooney off with the poznan didn't you? You may pay for that this weekend <laugh>

I think you could beat City if they play Mario but I cant see why Mancini doesn't play Tevez & Aguero as they are unreal together but with Mario they dont play fluently but they should be up for it after getting beat off United mind.

We have no chance against United on current form, I still have blind faith though as we all do.

Both Newcastle & Sunderland could both be playing in the Championship next season so neither fans should boast.

Sunderland can go because they have an abundance of average playing staff and Newcastle because we have literally the worst manager in our EPL history imo, worse than Graeme Souness.

Pardew isnt a bad manager mate look where he took you last season, just bad luck with injuries and suspensions so far and your still in a good position to make an assault on the top 6. You should of beaten us but for a red card and a lucky goal! Cabaye injured, Ben Arfa injured, Tiote injured/banned/injured, Collocini banned/injured so you have just had so many stop starts this season whereas last season you had continuity.

Think Sunderland may be above us by the end of January and potentially stay there if we don't strengthen in January.

Gullit is worse I guess, but Pardew's on par with Roeder/Allardyce/Kinnear.

Have to say, I think Sunderland have one of the most obviously championship quality sides ever, punctuated with some genuine class (Mig I think is the best keeper in the league, Sess is great when on form, Rose isn't yours but he's brilliant)... I think Martin is and will continue to do a decent job til investment, at which point they'll be flying.

Our squad I thought were good, but I think it's becoming pretty blatant the squad contains players who maybe wouldn't even get a game in the championship plugging in holes in the first team.

It's not a merry christmas at all at the moment <wah>

It's the only redeeming factor of this season for me - Sunderland have been worse than us and that takes some doing up to this point!

If we can finish above the DMM's then this whole season won't seem so bad! :emoticon-0105-wink:

How people can compare Pardew with the likes of Kinnear/Sounness (who inherited a quality team)/Allardyce (who is a good manager but insisted on having us play awful football)/Hughton (first time he was caretaker manager as he was totally clueless, he was very good later on though) is beyond me. For my money its a straight play off between Graham 'dismantler of a very good young squad' Sounness and Joe '****ing' Kinnear.

What about Ruud Gullit? What a knacker he was. Dropped Shearer and Ferguson. Didn't even give Rob Lee a squad number, and wouldn't play Stuart Pearce of Dabizas who were both class at the time. He was an arse of the highest order.

Pardew did of course drop Mascherano and played Hayden Mullins instead, so he has got form of his own for that sort of thing spms
