West Brom are planning a late move for Sunderland midfielder Stephane Sessegnon, according to reports from The Mirror. West Brom boss Steve Clarke is still keen to add to his squad, despite have secured a number of arrivals over the summer months. Sessegnon has emerged as one of Clarkeâs top targets, after it arose that the playmaker has little future at the Stadium of Light. Despite being one of the Black Catsâ top performers since his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, the Benin international has not convinced Paolo Di Canio of his abilities. A recent charge for drink-driving has done little to help his chances of forcing his way into the Italianâs plans either, and is believed to have pushed him nearer the exit door. Clarke, however, feels that he may be able to get the best out of Sessegnon, and is hopeful that the midfielder could add greater creativity to his ranks. Sunderland are said to be willing to sell for £6m, and are keen to do so before the transfer window closes. West Brom will have to fight off interest from Qatari outfit El Jaish if they are to conclude a deal.
TBH I hope we don't sell him- if he has to go then obviously a couple or more clubs showing interest will raise his value ... if he goes to WBA hopefully he doesn't come back and bite us on the arris
