Thing with Routledge was he was ****tank in the final third for us. I had him down as an out and out winger. The one thing that did impress me about him was his workrate. Worked his socks off helping out the full back which was useful because we are a bit weak there. Barton is the same. He seemed to have a good time at QPR and I'd wish him well because he was a good pro for us.

Routledge just seems to lose his confidence in the PL. In the Championship he's like ****ing Ronaldo, tears full backs to pieces and bags loads of goals and assists. Then when he steps up to the PL, and even against bottom 5 teams, he still looks scared to take on the full back.

he played a couple of games as a second striker and i think he'd have been better used by us in that position than shola/lover/ranger tbh

I like him, blistering pace and a decent passer, fantastic as an impact sub. The issue is whether he'll be happy warming our bench when he can be a regular starter for QPR, especially at this important stage in his career.

I'd keep him but if he want to go, let him and try to get £4m for him. QPR have the money and he's been a massive player for them.
