<peacedove> No one ever thought Liverpool is not going to be a serious title contenders this season.
Now, damage limitation is our goal. Progressing in the champion league can soften the blow.
Brendan Rodgers believes that we have enough good players and it's a matter of time before they gel together.

Instead of buying players, I think we invest in good coaches and a DoF.

Rodgers got us in this mess. Only he can get us out of it. He needs to use the players he bought this summer (all of them ). Dump the baggage.
    Can't be any worse

    its really simple here.

top to bottom LFC are amateur hour.

    1. we did a half hearted search for a ceo and ended up just giving ayre the job. why? cos that was "good enough" .... I am the first to defend ian "fan of the club" ayre but I know there's better out there.

    2. no technical direction. We must separate temporary coaching form long term structures. A technical director is not just about buying player or getting in a coaches way. why do we have an academy director and a separation between senior and junior levels. Everything should be under one umbrella. designed to drive continuous improvement of standards.... eg. why oh why is mike marsh only now getting his pro license. why was he in charge of our u18s without the top badges etc. why have we a dinosaur gk coach? why have we do few coaches etc etc etc. who runs the emdical side? why?then the scouts. who's running the show, fallows? rodgers? and so forth and so on.

    3. manager? sorry but sack the f'r. this crap has to stop with the man in charge. I said prior to the season i could see a scenario where rodgers got the sack but that was based on suarez going and us finihsing 6th or 7th not how f'n bad it actually is now.

    4. players... how the f is johnson getting a game? how the f is gerrard playing 3 a week? why are they so light weight, all looking at each other waiting for someone to press first and then follow... if it suits.

Sorry but high time a spade was called a spade. There are far better run clubs with far less financial resources doing far better job than us.

We all need to wake up. the singing of balotelli and even lambert prior to suarez going should have been warning signals to all. how far does it have to go to actually be that wake up call in boston i wonder.... do we need to finish 14th?

I think our problems are in the team selection.

Players dont get dropped after a bad performance.

Players do get dropped after a good one.

The team balance and dynamic was so much better against Real Madrid. Lucas and Toure made a significant improvement to the team which made the shape better and the team sturdier. Every one looked so much better as a team.

But since then every one has been ignored. Can got a few games but was dropped for the Palace game, which we really needed him for.

Also, just for putting in maximum energy and effort Borini should be starting every game, but again Rodgers is ignoring him. Balotelli has been poor and Lampard doesnt have the legs to play this much.

All I can think is Rodgers enjoys famous name like Gerrard, Johnson and Balotelli. If he had to choose two of Suarez, Sturridge and Balotelli he'd choose Balotelli and ignore Sturridge because he loves the bigger celebrities.

RB: Johnson < Manquillo and Flanagan
CB: Lovren < Sakho and Toure
LB: Johnson = Enrique < Moreno, Flanagan
    DM: Gerrard < Lucas
ST: Balotelli = Lambert < Borini

Some of these are judged more on effort, dedication and leadership more than technical ability. But right now it does not seem to be the technical ability that matters.

No we need to play a few more games than 12/38 <ok>

**** changes every week in this game, win tonight and our next 2 league games and suddenly we are not all just moaning at every sentence on here. Look at Newcastle ffs! We are not Spurs, we don't just keep sacking and sacking and sacking - it don't help.

Agree with the structure of the club though.

you are right and can add moreno being constantly in and out to that list.... is not helping the boy at all.

lucas did decently. we cannot ignore the fact he can't run as well but he is far better than gerrard end of and plays it fast and simple.

Toure did quite well v madrid. he can organsie and shepard lovern through so why not?

12/38....... plus 4 in cl... lost 3... 12/38 = nearly a third of the season!!! byt the time christmas is come and gone it'll be half the season gone. clearly we will be here in march saying the same as our seaosn peters out and we crawl past 40 points( we hope by march) as FSG won't do anything......

but its very clear whats going to occur.

When Rodgers first came in he used Skrtel and Agger, but they lacked leadership. To fix this he brought Carragher back in. Now he needs to repeat this with Toure.

I think with Lucas just having a natural DM makes a huge difference. Better just doesnt fit the role properly.

This is where Rodgers is completely clueless when it comes to the defence.

Agger was definitely a leader. He made Skrtel look half decent!

An out of form Agger still held the defence together - you only have to look at the way he used to look after Flanno who was LB. Constantly talking and leading his line.
