Gervinho is a very good player. Everything apart from his finishing is superb. He's like Eboue in front of goal though, the guy seems to completely freak out and smash the ball over/wide whenever he gets in a decent position. The ability is all there its just a mental thing. He's not a natural goalscorer that's for sure.
Yeah, Unfortuntaley he's becoming another 'whipping boy' for some fans, Much like Walcott and Ramsey. These players are NOT the problem. The problem is we have no world class players on the bench.
who's best 11? Sagna, Vermaelen, Van Persie and Wilshere would walk into most top european teams starting 11. I think with everyone fit our starting 11 is pretty damn strong, we just dont have the quality in depth. We never have the quality in depth because just as the young players come through we sell our established stars, time and time again. Wilshere broke through last year...we sell Fabregas.
Hopefully Gervinho will find his shooting boots in Africa and come back ready to score some for Arsenal. I think he's a really good player, but his finishing is the area he needs to improve on.
World Class? - only RVP -- UNLESS YOU ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE 200 AS WORLD CLASS. World class to me means maybe 33 players = 3 teams. NO more.
