Not been impressed by this guy so far. Does he have it in himself to improve? Fletcher obviously thinks so as he's been offered a new contract along with Robbie Williams, Durrell Berry, Joe Lennox and Ollie Chenoweth: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18107815 What are your thoughts on Feeney and also the others mentioned above?
Feeney is one of those players that is always going to divide opinion isn't he. Puts in loads of effort which most would agree with but doesn't get on the score sheet enough for a striker. Have to say the tactics and method of play have not been ones which would help Feeney to score loads of goals and if they remain the same then he is going to struggle. If Fletcher changes play and it isn't hoofing it at Feeney then it is possible he might improve his tally. He is not a target man. As for the others well I'm sort of non commital about most of them. Think Lennox will improve and Williams is a reasonable member of the defence. As a second string keeper I don't think Chenoweth is good enough but he might improve and is probably cheap. Think his weaknesses were shown up when he got his chance.
Must admit I would swop Feeney for Drogba if given the chance......wages would be the problem. Ashley Hemmings has been released by his club......possibilities of bringing him back ?
Hemmings was ok sometimes. He wasn't class all of the time and his delivery having done the hard stuff was often poor. You need to have seen him rather than just hear about the good games.
Feeney reminds me of Mackie in his workrate but his finishing? Questionable. Twice I remember him having missed absolute sitters this season. Not scoring enough is a problem but he is experienced and you have to remember he was at one point the only experienced player we had. That said I think that he and Chadders both need shooting lessons.
Chadwick missed more sitters than Feeney did. I just don't see either of them bringing home the bacon to be honest and striker is one position that has to be strengthened, we need somebody who can score.
