Can't really fault his performances so far. This kid has a big future, how long until he's poached from us?

A good read. Would like to know if the author is a Saints fan or a neutral. Makes all the difference if a reporter is a neutral, preventing them being bias.

Well, he's going in the shop window the weekend after next! Bet Wenger watches him more than his own team that game. I think we should drop him from that game for that reason!

If we let him get poached, that imo sends a bigger negative message about our ambition than is the Ramirez signing a positive message. It would involve steps backwards. He is exactly the kind of player we need, and need to keep at the club.

Thoughtful analysis. I have bookmarked that website, as I can stand a fair bit of good quality football writing.

Good article and one that echo's most Saints fans feeling towards JWP
He is very much in the mould of Wilshire and Cleverly although as we saw on Sunday, he is clearly better than the latter already
When Corky is fit he faces a spell on the bench unless JWP performance drop off

One phrase "His game is not without fault as on occasion he was all too happy to shadow an opposition player when instead he could have made attempted to make a challenge, however, this caution is nothing out of the ordinary for such a young player appearing on such a big stage". Isn't this the same thing we said about Foxy, so is this what is encouraged at the training ground?

Well that is praise indeed he is a mature youngster as quoted. He will just as sniders has had to adjust to the type of play found in the Premier. The future is there for all to see for this youngster. Someone will at some stage come knocking for him but that won't be for another couple of years yet. Which gives us at least that time to convince him he can do as much with us as any other team. Well spotted Rob........good thread.

Isn't it a bit different for a LB or a defender in the last line..? You shadow a player into touch, or until the forces are grouped, rather than commit to a tackle.

Arsenal? That's the obvious guess as Wenger likes our young boys. But you know Spurs have sold Modric, Lampard and Scholes aren't getting any younger, he could go to a number of clubs

The writer is a gooner so it was probably a letter to Arsen. I would prefer the markers to stay on thier feet, but sooner or later you have to make a challenge. I used to play in a team with skinny guy, he used to try and make a hard tackle in the first few minutes, very often one of his team mates would just place the ball between him and another player so skinny kid could get a nice hard tackle in, otherwise he could get bullied all game

For such a young player he plays with such composure and maturity it's frightening to think where he could be in 3-5 years. Of all the teams that could be after him I suspect man united will be wanting him the most because he does remind of Paul scholes and sir Alex is definatley in need of a long term replacement for him.

he is fairly slight, but he must be 6 feet. Morgan was fairly skinny when he first came here, now he looks like an extra from the film 300
