Ward is backing Ellis Harrison to eventually re-find the sort of form that made him such a hit after bursting onto the scene last season.

Harrison, who had been told he was free to find a new club prior to Ward’s arrival as manager at Christmas, has struggled for form in some of the early games of the current campaign, but the manager said:

“Ellis came out of nowhere last season at a time when he was possibly on his way out of football before we all came together. He has proved himself since then and earned the longer contract his performances deserved and has worked even hard since coming back after the summer. Ellis is a boy who cares a great deal, demands a lot of himself and is just a little up and down in his own confidence levels at the moment. He’s one we all expect a lot from him after last season, but we have to remember he is still a 19-year-old kid and that, maybe, we are all expecting too much from him, too quickly. I have to look after him because he is going to be a good player for us in due course, but we shouldn’t be expecting too much, too quickly, from a young man who is having to rapidly learn his trade.”

I had no idea, but more to the point he's got to find some form quickly, regardless of his age.

He was told to find a new club prior to Ward's arrival - so that means by McGhee.

We all know that McGhee wouldn't play the youngsters - Hunter even tweeted that he was fed up at our 'failing Scottish club' or something like that.

When Ward came in he put his faith in the youngsters and they need to start repaying that faith.
