For those who think £5 milllion is too much for Huddlestone then what about Southampton paying two and a half times as much for a bloke whose claim to football greatness has been in playing for Celtic in the only one horse league in the world. And some of you think were getting done over....unbelievable amount of money.
Looks a powerhouse to me like, whether he's worth that much time will tell, at least their club is signing players....... oh wait a minute
In fairness, he was bossing the Barca midfield regularly enough in their two games. Regardless of the club, always been impressed by him
I think he'll do al right. However, don't think any SPL team should be asking that sort of money for one of their players with the poor quality they face week in week out. It like a league one team putting a price like that on a player who's done well in that league and had a good game against Man U in the cup. Way to expensive for me.
Agree with the OP, Huddlestone for less than half that is a great deal, plus Huddlestone is more attack minded than Wanyama, hes still a good player mind and I expect him to do a job In the PL but no more than that.
we spent 12-15 million on a player who got relegated twice in 3 years, and very nearly 4 in 3, who are the mugs again????
If he'd been relegated 4 times in 3 years we'd have really, really been mugs. Fletcher shone in each of those sides though and shone for us before his injury. We have been mugs but Fletcher doesn't appear an example of our muggery. I think wanyama is a good player personally and to get the player you pay the price. Simple as that.
Chamberlain was only 17, Arsenal bought him at an age where they could significantly influence his development. Can Southampton say that of Wanyama? No, because he's already halfway through his development plying his trade in fizzy pop leagues. Silly comparison mate. Different completely.
