I know its too soon to tell but After playing two games and scoring tonight!! I'm just wondering how he's played and should we extend his loan...?! Was working for the two games so I'm in the dark!!
Early days, could do with being involved more but cannot be over critical after only 5 days with the club abd 2 games. Took his goal well. I think we now have 20 goal scorers in all competitions this season - inc. 3 og's. About time Marshall and Heaton chipped in and, of course, the goal to bring the house down from Super Kev!!! Looks the sort of player who will shine when things going well - picked out some great passes going forward - but not great at covering back and marking at this stage. I am sure Malky will work him hard on that part of his game. I would like to see him with the opportunity of running at defenders as he did in that clip we saw of him in Newcastle v. West Brom last week.
Funny that we buy an 18 year old who we are yet to see, then we loan a 19 year old who gets 2 starts in 5 days.
Yeah I can see Malky's thinking. He obviously thinks that Vuckic is already Prem/Champ class, considering he has already played at that level I can see his thinking. Almost like a worse Aaron Ramsey, last season deal. K. Harris will probably be a similar signing to Rudy or Joe, he'll take a while to let him prove his worth in training and then begin to slowly give him his chances. - That Malky is buying 18 year olds who are *future prospects* is surely a GREAT thing for CCFC, it shows he is truly in it for the long run.
Glad he's scoring. You've probably heard this already, but we're very excited about this boy up our way. He's got a great shot, class vision and an absolutely top attitude. He was signed up as a 17 year old unknown for £1m, that's more than Danny Simpson and Perch put together and only a 3rd of Tiote's transfer fee, so someone clearly saw something in him.
Cheers JWAG. He certainly has something about him and could be an asset to us for the rest of the season. Due to the pace of the game he didn't get a lot of time on the ball last night. I look forward to seeing what he can do given more time and a chance to run at defenders.
seems as if he was better last night than on saturday. at least he didn't give away a penalty this time!
He showed a couple of nice touches and took his goal well. However he looked out of his depth. Passenger for most of the game. He shouldnt start against Ipswich and I fear for us if he does. Way off the pace for most of the game. Mason at the moment is miles better.
If we start with Gestede and Miller again at Ipswich, there's no way Mason will be in there in place of Vuckic. The Championship pace does seem to have caught Vuckic out. Chucked in at the deep end, he was poor against Leicester but showed some composure on Tuesday. He's adjusting at gthe moment, and the more he plays the better he'll get. I can't see Malky going anything but 4-5-1 against Ipswich up there, though after his Tuesday game, Rudy will be unlucky not to have another crack from the off.
The formation could depend on whether or not McPhail is fit. Our 4 5 1 is so much better with him in the anchor role allowing Whitts to play further forward. I guess Conway will come back in so if McPhail not fit will Malky go with Ralls, Mason or Vuckic as the 5th? However, Malky could shock us all and stick with 4 4 2. I think Vuckic will get better the more he plays and tunes in to the pace of the Championship - he started to do this on Tuesday but may just be a luxury to have at Portman Road.
Looks as if the lad would like to extend the loan deal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17049807
Looks like I'm in the minority of one, I thought the boy had a good game on Tuesday. I thought he made a few openings for the front two, took his goal very well. Ok he tired a bit later on but not getting game time it will take a few more games to be fully match fit. I'll be more that happy to see him stay until the end of the season or maybe even more.
Okay I made a couple of negative comments but I'm with you Rhondda. Give the boy time to adjust and he could be a real asset. Looks like he has the right attitude. May not start when our top 11 are all fit but definitely useful from the bench to bring something different to the game. I think he wants to go back to Newcastle at the end of the season...........unless we achieve that which we cannot speak of!!!
I don't think you're in a minority at all Rhondda. I've only seen one poster talk him down, and that was probably nothing more than an honest personal opinion by him. In fact, on the "Peterborough -3-1" thread, I said: - "Wasn't sure about Vuckic after his debut midweek, but if he plays like he did last night we'll need to revisit his one month loan and keep him." The boy definitely has something that needs to be brought out at Championship pace level. A couple more games should sort him, and he could play an important part in the side as the season runs down towards May - if we can keep him.
we could still do with another signing to share the workload with Kenny and we STILL don't have any wide men! hey ho. still in there swinging. it's going to be tight!
