I actually snapped mine mate and didn't realise until the swelling went down 5 weeks later. It remains missing to this day (after 11 years) With instant treatment like Alisson will receive I would imagine a bad pull would be around a month, a slight tear around six weeks and a total snap probably 3 - 4 months. Only my thoughts, I have no idea of the reality of any of those situations since I never got mine fixed.
Mate of mine did his Achilles and was on crutches for 4 months, then loads of physio. It can be very bad. Hopefully it is just a pull so 3 to 4 weeks at the most
I've mentioned this on here before: I was playing badminton years ago when my calf muscles went with an audible crack. Like Alisson I looked behind me thinking I'd hit something and momentarily wondering what had managed to get onto the court behind me. It was nine months before I could play again, but I never really felt the same again. Even now, 15 years on, I can feel it tighten on a steep hill. I just hope Alisson hasn't done his like that, though no doubt he'll get significantly better medical attention than I did.
Happy with that, rusty in defence but to be expected really - it’ll improve with minutes. Impressed with Firmino, he looks really switched on, raring to go and enjoying the game. Very good game Fromm Origi too, I love how unselfish he is, always looking to tee someone up and good movement in between CB’s for his goal
A mate of mine did out not long ago. Not allowed to drive first three months whilst wearing a boot, weekly hospital visits to adjust said boot and three months rehabilitation after that just to get him walking / running again.
Big difference between a ruptured Achilles and a calf strain lads. Hopefully it’ll be the latter and he’ll only be out a few weeks. Personally I doubt he’d have walked off if he’d have done his Achilles, which is an awful injury. Odd game that btw, Norwich can’t defend for ****, but looked decent going forwards. You lot looked full of goals, but a tad rusty at the back. I’m not convinced TAA’s long term position is full back, the lad isn’t a defender imo.
Never good losing a quality keeper like Alisson but like I said earlier in the thread we now have a quality back up so it's not such a worry. Imagine if it was Mingolet now as the keeper we'd all be waiting for the next **** up.
I think Trent tries to rely on his pace too much, some game though when he is more disciplined he is fine. Problem is you push him forward then who do you drop. His attacking is phenomenal though.
He’s fabulous going forwards, but he’s just not a natural defender imo. I can see sides targeting the space he vacates with more regularity this season. Ultimately I don’t think he’ll end up a RB longer term.
That’s the same TAA who was mooted as one of the best RB’s in the world last season? I get your point, he was out of position a couple of times last night - but he had a similar slow start last year and has been hit at pre season to the point where I advocated playing Gomez yesterday....but he’ll come good. I thought Norwich were a tidy footballing team. Unfortunately they’ll struggle - some teams will tear them apart at the back - as we did and others will stifle them and nick a goal. I hope they stay up tbh but fear for them.
Trent has been rusty defensively in past few games but he’s still a good defender and showed that for most parts of last season.
