CALLING ALL TOWN FANS......... I am asking for a favour. I have also posted this on the Norwich and West Ham boards Guru has agreed that I could post this favour on your board. If anybody does complain, then please let the mods know and they can remove it if they see fit to do so. Hopefully there will be no complaints. I am involved with a youth organisation called the Romford Drum and Trumpet Corps. I am one of a few who gives their time freely to give musical tuition to a group of youngsters from the age of 8 up to 19 and some even older. Some of you may have heard of this group. They played at Cromer Carnival this year and most years as well. The best thing I can do to explain where I need your help is by copying and pasting this email. Hopefully you guys can give us the help by voting for us. Many thanks in anticipation. Apologies if this is rather long winded. We are in the running for a grant for £6,000 to fund towards a music school and will need you all to get busy and drive the online votes up. The scheme is via Nat West and the voting system in very simple to do and will probably take you less than a minute. The secret to driving up the votes is to get busy and get everyone you know to do the same. I believe you have to register your email address to vote, therefore if you have a work email and a personal email address (hotmail/googlemail/aol/ntlworld/) then you may be able to get to vote more than once. Therefore I have drawn up a list of ways I can think of to drive up the votes.If any of you have some other ideas please get in touch as we have about three weeks to do this 1- firstly vote yourself from every email address you have 2- send an email to everyone in your email history/contacts asking them to do the same. 3- Get all your colleagues at work to do the same.(this was very effective when we did the lottery voting) 4- Get this onto your facebook and keep refreshing your appeals for votes. 5- Talk to people and ask them to vote. 6- Get the message onto any websites- forums or other online sites appealing for votes. The good thing about this time is that we can actually see how the voting is going. One lesson we learned last time is the number of people who said they had voted against what we actually polled does differ, so you will need to get onto your firends to get them to do what they said they have. Lastly by my estimation we have to be in the top three out of about 35 to get the funds. This organisation loves a contest and a challenge and here is a big one to go for. Due to my inability to read things properly, it would seem that the number of votes that I posted on a different thread was, in fact, the total number of votes. Our number of votes is actually 88. UPDATE I have heard that we are 2nd in our area at the moment, by a mere 18 votes, which means we are in line for the grant. Thanks to all who have voted so far. Many thanks ITFC Mods for making this a sticky. It really is very much appreciated.
