    Good if this is true.

The Sunderland deal seems strange though, if that is also correct. A not-for-profit deal to raise wareness of Africa - but 'could' net them £20m. Regardless of how likely they are to achieve those tagets, it is a bizarre way to 'invest in Africa'.

Invest in Africa is a NGO front for Tullow Oil which is trying to repair its CSR image after accusations of working abuses, damaging pollution and exploitation on the continent in general.

    I actually like Branson too.
Seems a bit madcap but very grounded.

    Dickie Dosh.

The latest Sporting Intelligence survey of Premier League shirt advertising deals claims that Newcastle have done some noteworthy business in securing sponsorship from the Virgin Money brand owned by Sir Richard Branson.

A revenue figure of £10m for the 2012/13 season that the website claims has been verified is a significant uplift on the previous figure of £2.5m paid by Northern Rock.

Wasn't this common knowledge when we signed with Virgin anyway?

    Decent deal though.
