Next year it looks likely we will have a fair few strikers at our disposal with Kedwell, Birch, Kuffour, Miller and Tomlin if his transfer in completed. I was just wondering what will happen to Rowan Vine? He has seemed unable to hold down a role in the first team and looks unfit yet very skilful and a bit too good for this league. However he has been on a large wage and might not come to league 2 club. Would you sign him or not that's the question?
Assuming he would come to us and we could afford his wages... yes Bit he won't want to step down to L2 and we can't afford prem. wages so...no
Not a chance - the deal was only short term and a no brainer as Vine wanted games, and we got a striker effectively for free. Not sure where he would go as he has been out of action for a long time but I think it's safe to say there'll be cheaper options out there.
If at all possible I would try to keep Vine. I'd sell Kedwell, don't keep Kuffour, don't renew contracts on Richards Lawrence,Oli and King and don't replace them either, but use the money saved to finance Vine if he would stay. There is no room in the team for Kedwell, if we could get Vine,as he's a far better player than Kedwell and we could team him with Birchall. The rest of the players out of contract, Fuller Weston etc replace or re-sign. The basis of a strong team is there with Essan, Evans and Miller breaking through, so we don't need major alterations( apart from the managerial positions). Top up as necessary with loans as the season progresses. Oh, and sign Tomlin.
