I thought I'd better get this post in quickly before notdistant hexes the night again. I hope he's learned his lesson now. So, following probably the worst Argyle performance for a generation what can we expect from this follow up game. Our away form in terms of points gained has been a bit dire so far but in truth of late the actual performances have not been. We have the ability to kick start the points from away games and I am still going to say we can win this. I will never go as far as saying we will of course. Come on lads you can do it...... COYG
Well luckily notDistant has been kept away from starting this website....it will be hard for Argyle to raise their game from the debacle of Saturday . Maybe a start for Andre Gray.....we could do worse.
Grimshaw, Mumba, Szucs, Edwards, Hardie, Whittaker, Wright, Bundu, Gibson, Gyabi, Randell. Subs Marosi, Ogbeta, Houghton, Obafemi, Gray, Forshaw, Al Hajj, Issaka, Palson. Looking rather light in mid-field.
Mumba gives the ball away and we’re 1-0 down. He’s a left winger not a full back. Otherwise we’ve been OK I’d not better.
An error by Mumba gives them the chance to make it 1-0. He’s an attacker not a full back. Otherwise sort of OK but still 1-0. Issaka for Bundu please
I talk about being street-wise. On a Millwall corner, the taker has just spent 3 minutes removing invisible mud from his studs. When did these hi-tech pitches produce mud precisely? Millwall trainers now on for a life threatening case of cramp, luckily coinciding with a pre-planned substitution.
Well much more competitive than Saturday but still not good enough. You may hear that we had a claim for a penalty in the first few minutes for a foul on Bundu. I don’t think so.
Wayne Rooney says it was a penalty: the ref gave it then changed his mind on the basis that Callum Wright passed the ball to Bundu, who was then offside. Argyle's position is that it came off a Millwall player, not Wright, and therefore the penalty decision should have stood. On such small things battles are won and lost. What I would say is that the lino is 50 yards away on the far side of a crowded box. Who says it was offside? Not the ref presumably, otherwise he wouldn't have given the pen in the first place.
Which is correct. he is NOT offside and the ref DOES point to the spot and then changes his mind when the nearest lino is 50 yards away. That would have given a goal time of 22 seconds.
We are the greens but it seems seldom get the rub of it. Not seen any of it so can't comment. Was late coming to the game and only arrived when the result was decided.
On paper we have I think a middle of the table team.....but in fact they do not perform to their abilities. Mumba shouldn't ever be seen as a defender...he hasn't lived up to his price tag for a long time now. Whittaker's value is dropping every game....in fact sometimes he seems to go missing for long periods. Our defence should be doing better.... I don't think they have had a clean sheet yet....only one team with a leakier defence. Hardie is becoming a fringe player even though none of our newer attackers are doing any better.....they all owe us goals. If we start dropping points at home then we are definately a relegation candidate.....can Rooney reverse the downward trend....I'm beginning to doubt it.
