I was reading that the Ref for this one has issue 13 yellows and one red in two games this season so far. He's going to be a busy boy all season writing it all up if he keeps that going.

Anyway lest we forget this club stole Trevor Francis from us some years ago so we never forgive and forget and must therefore owe them a kicking (sorry REf) a hiding. Do we do hidings? It's a bit difficult to know what to expect this early in a season isn't it.

Unfortunately Trevor Francis...19/4/54 to 24/7/23....so died just a month ago....was never ours to steal.

He definately was. Born a Janner and went to my old school Public Secondary School for Boys. A couple of years after I left admittedly but he was our's none the less. They just signed him first and we didn't.

Poor start and a goal conceded early but much better in the second quarter.

I’ve just watched the 90 minutes too, not expecting much, but Joe’s right, we were the better side most of the time. We do need to be a bit more streetwise: too many 50 yard cross-field balls attempted and failed and should we really have been going gung-ho for a winner deep into added time?

If we can just tighten it up a bit, we’ll be fine.

Houghton was the fans’ MotM and that was spot on: magnificent.

The referee was diabolical. He let far too much go unpunished and their first goal was probably a foul. Really awful.

well on the first goal they stopped and everyone shouted so it was a foul in most of our eyes. The ref let far to much go your correct, he never had control .. their defender was getting run all over by mumba but he went unpunished for a lot of blatant fouls in my mind..

we will have to hopefully find the net a few times, as just before they scored whittalker had a great chance that was the difference as every game we have played so far we should not have lost any not saying we should have won them all. its all learning and hopefully someone will get a hiding soon from us the way we are going..

Going gung-ho in Div One worked....but not in the Championship.

It’s exciting and I approve of it most of the time. I’m not sure away at Birmingham City, having pulled back a 1-0 deficit, with 60 seconds to go, is the time to hurl all 10 outfielders forward in search of a winner.

A point at Birmingham with a good performance as well would have been a good outcome and increased confidence. Now it looks like a bad day at the office.
