Vermaelen is fit, in full training and according to Wenger ' ready to play'. It will be a real shot in the arm for the team to see him playing again and will hopefully give the defence some much needed confidence again. That said, he has been out for what seems like an eternity, so I don't think we should expect too much too soon. But it will be so good to see him back in an Arsenal shirt again. Thinking about the summer and potential transfers - If TV is fit and remains fit, do we still need to buy another CB?
As i have always said, we don't need any more CB's. It would be nice to go 1 season without a key player being injured for most of it though.
I suppose this is the point though. Had TV been fit this season, our results would have been different (thinking 4-4 Newcastle, 2-3 Yids, 1-1 Liverpool, 2-1 Bolton) and we'd be heading for the title. But injuries are always a factor. Can we afford to rely on TV?
He has had one good season and one awful season in terms of injuries so I can't make assumptions of whether he is going to be like RvP or Sagna. The good thing about him about him being back (apart from him being an excellent defender) is that he is a very vocal player and we don't have many players like that.
Nooo, Ill keep TV well away from the Britannia, We have just got him back.. We dont want him injured again ( which will eventually happen to one arsenal player on the night ).
