Out of favour at Arsenal apparently they are willing to accept bids? I know he has had a bad season but I think he is class......

Unrealistic?

 

I spoke about this on the other board. If £5M is accurate then it would be a good deal but his wages are too high, apparently he's on about £80k a week. Apparently Napoli are after him according to BBC gossip.

 

Couldn't see him coming to us at all. Wages a problem from our end. Playing for a tactically inept manager may be a problem to him. That and no European football

 

Doesn't Colo earn 80k per week? Wages not a problem if he's a replacement for the captain. Would be happy with this, but can't see it being "as well as", more of an "instead of" situation. We'd still need 1 or 2 more at the back.

 

Would be a quality signing, but Arsenal don't like to sell to team in england if they can help it (besides manchester...), so I think he'll go to Napoli, Athletico, or somewhere like that.

 

Might be too old for us too. 29 now?

Plus we're forgetting - we are sh!t. Players tend to need a reason to come. Arsenal to Newcastle?

I'd take home for sure. I've always rated him.
If we do sign him hopefully he will be as good as our last Belgian CB... I may even change my username

 

Ashley does not rate experience its over rated we need players with no experience or soul it's all bout buying cheap selling high

 

He wouldn't fancy it. Not the best defender going either, Arsenal have improved ten fold since dropping him in favour of Koceilny and Mertesacker. Great to watch and a good footballer, gets his fair share of goals too. Injured a lot, high wages. I think all weighed up it probably couldn't happen and not sure he is what we'd need if somehow he was interested.

He'll want to play CL.

I thought we signed MYM because we suddenly realised that we'd left the squad short on numbers and Colo as a 30 plus player would pick up injuries and Saylor is injury prone. therefore having Perch and Willo was a situ likely to ensue and cause us untold damage. Even if we lose Colo, we'll still need to replace him. I also think we need to replace Willo.

2 strikers, 1 centre (two if Colo goes), 1 left back, 1 winger. 5 or 6 needed whilst removing the likes of Gosling, Simpson, Shola, Obertan, Willo.

 

Is he like that though?

To old,all I will say is thank god Ashley was not in charge in 93 when we signed Beardsley as that would never have happened.
Looking back that was a daft signing
And a waste of money so I can see Ashley ain't experience lol

Why would you want to spend money on Vermaelan when you could get Titus Bramble on a FREE!
