    In

    Shaw
    Herrera
    Rojo
    Di Maria
    Blind
Falcao (pending medical at this time)

    Out

    Nani
    Kagawa
    Welbeck (reports)
    Cleverley (reports)
    Ferdinand
    Vidic (agreed under moyes tenure)
    Powell (reports)
    Evra

A number of younger players have moved each way too.

So is it now more van gaals than fergies team?

Seems so UIR, but still think we should have kept Vidic

Yep and all in all that is a good thing. Confidence with some of the Fergie players is shot. Maybe they weren't capable of adapting to the change.

One thing though, I would have liked a United stalwart to embed the club's culture and history into this new rebuild. Maybe Giggs is there for that, but nobody on the pitch sadly though. Another casualty of rebuilding over one transfer window instead of over a long term period over the last 5 years or so.

Quite probably, although it depends on who actually beds themselves into the team on a long term basis.

I reckon we're going old school. By which I mean resurrecting the WM formation to fit Rooney, RVP, Mata, Di Maria and Falcao all into the same team. If it worked for Huddersfield...

In a strange way i think rooney is seen as the link between old and new now. Been here a while after all.

Not sure if thats a good thing though tbh.

Might not recognise the team soon, this must be how it feels to be a Chelsea and City fan

I'm saying we'll have to go back to the old days of inside forwards and outside forwards in order to fit them all in! Google "WM formation" or "Herbert Chapman" and you'll see what I mean.

    ----------De Gea
    ----Rafael----Evans----Rojo---
    -------Herrera-----Blind-------
    ----------Mata--RVP----------
    ---Rooney---Falcao---Di Maria-

    Sorted <ok>

If so, we will have to learn to live with it. If it means getting back to winning games week in week out, I think I can manage to cope.

Ah that made me recoil tbh. Rooney doesn't get it imo. Rio, Evra, Keano, Scholes, Giggs etc had that. Carrick is possibly the closest but I don't see a future for him (or maybe don't want to see a future for him).

But overall it's a good thing. No baggage and all that.

By the way, LVG must have a thing for left footed players - Shaw, Blind, Di Maria, Blackett, Anderson, Wilson, Rojo, Mata, RVP, Januzaj and Valencia. That's ridiculous <laugh> And Falcao has a decent left foot despite being right footed.

You may not have noticed but half the team plays on the left and LVG only signed 4 of those

The old 2-3-5? It's mad how they used to play with 5 up front <laugh>

You may not have noticed but I never said he did. But he certainly plays them (or will). And they don't all play on the left when he does. Not a criticism either, but must be unusual <ok>

To be fair we ended up with no left backs so needed at least 2 left footers. We also sold a left winger and were left with ashley young. Both of those are right footed anyway. So thats another few accounted for.

Yes. The team is now definitely LVG's . Fergie has been around for so long that his players could/would only play for him but also as has been said, the s**t season meant that the club, the fans and everyone else have lost confidence in them.

LVG has no excuse now. <ok>
