If he does really **** at the World cup will he still be the re chosen one? I know the Dutch players usually are at each others throats by the time they step off the plane but would you hold any bearing over his managerial qualities if they failed to get out of group stages or did so in an unconvincing manner? The Netherlands are up against Australia, Spain and Chile in group B
Strange thread. Do you know these people? How can you know if they'll be at each others throats? Very strange thread.
It honestly wouldn't bother me if Holland did **** at the world cup. Someone told me the other day that he has led 4 clubs to league titles in his first season in charge when the season before they hadn't won it. Not saying that's what he'll do at United but that stat means more to me. Also, hopefully the foundations he has built at those clubs I hope he'll do similar at United.
This is the crucial bit. It might be that he only stays for three seasons but as long as some foundations and a plan are in place once he's gone that'll be ok. Not expecting the title first season either, just a springboard to be able to go for it in the next couple of seasons.
Not an easy group with Spain and Chile in there. We seen how good Chile where when they came to Wembley and played us off the park
That's not hard though is it. England are awful and are boring to watch though they always have been.
Trust me Chile are a strong team, there's not a lot between them and the Dutch. Dirk Kuyt still gets in the Dutch side
It is not as daft a possibility as you'd think, they are what I'd call lively outsiders. 50/1 in a South American climate isn't bad odds IMO, could be worth a small bet. Columbia would be the other South American side other than the big 2 that I can see going well. There 33/1
So you think he will put down some foundations and a plan in 3 years, what the **** did Fergie do over the last 26 years?
A plan, yes. Something Moyes didn't have. Just put us back on track, even if he doesn't stay for ages someone else can then pick up the reins. It didn't take Fergie 26 to do that. That's how long he was actually there. If anything by his 26th year he'd more or less knackered it all again. You clearly don't think he can though, why's that then?
True. We saw they're a better team than England are when they ran rings round us a Wembley. Plus with Isla, Vidal, and Alexis Sanchez you have three absolute quality players. @ 50/1 it might be worth a sneaky £2!!
People do realise club football was still in season when holland played Ecuador. Lvg picked kids and what he could. The depth of the dutch side is poor and ita their worst crop of players in decades. He still qualified with them as tge best european nation though. Lvg will lay the foundations for the next era at united on the pitch. Its what he does after all.
